Why We Like The Helium Sleeping Bag

Lighter than an imaginary cloud (and far warmer), Marmot's Helium 15-Degree Down Sleeping Bag is the perfect bag for long, chilly trips when added ounces can mean serious slowdowns. The Helium is part of Marmot's Ultralight series, which isn't quite as airy as the barely-there Ion, but it's a lot more affordable and still a killer three-season bag for backpacking, camping, and alpine missions. Pertex Microlight and nylon ripstop fabrics keep the superlight 800-fill goose down from escaping, and Marmot's Smooth-Curved baffle construction prevents the insulation from shifting around, so we're not fighting cold spots as we drift off to sleep. The Helium also sports an anatomically designed footbox and drawcord hood to keep our extremities toasty, and it uses a dual-zipper construction to let us fold down the top of the bag to sit up and increase ventilation when the night is a little warmer than expected.

The Helium is part of my top 3

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If I had to get a sleeping bag the helium would be in my top 3. Why, because it's warm, light, and compact. For the money it's a great starter bag where you buy it once and never have to get a new bag. Until you move on to more Snow/Glacier accents and expedition.

Fantastic bag

Outstanding quality, extremely versatile bag. Fairly warm for the weight, particularly if you’re used to anything synthetic. Venting allows use in some warmer months, I always use with a bag liner for about 3.5 season use.

Great bag!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this on campground nights and mountain nights in the backcountry and it has continued to serve me well. I am ALWAYS cold camping but this bag keeps me warm, but not too warm on chilly nights. light enough for trekking

Toasty Bag with Long Life

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this bag for over 5 years, and it still is toasty warm. I work in the outdoor industry, and it can be difficult to find a bag that retains it's warmth over time. I will bring this bag for temperatures as low as 28 F. Anything lower than 28 stretches the warmth capabilities of this bag. My freezing toes are always toasty in this toe box, and if stored properly, the down remains even around my torso. One comment is that the hood bungee constantly needs to be readjusted and comes loose from the seaming. One of the better quality bags for the price.

Happy Camper

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this on a whim as I needed a quick sleeping bag and I'm so happy with this item. It's been a veristal sleeping bag in all conditions. You can tell it's well built and has very little dead air space if fitted correctly. I'd definitely buy again <3

Helium in the Wind River Range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The helium bag was warm and comfortable. Some bags are too tight and constricting to achieve light weight. Not the helium. Construction is impeccable. Highly recommended.

The do it all bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this bag for over a year now and I’ve taken it everywhere. Spent cold nights sleeping on glaciers in Alaska, backpacking in the Tetons and in the alpine of Colorado. 15° is a perfect sweet spot all around and the 800 fill keeps you light and warm. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good do it all bag!
