Fantastic jacket!
I used this jacket extensively ice climbing all last winter and was very impressed! An insulated Gore Tex shell is a perfect layer for ice climbing, combining what would normally be two layers into one. This means less bulk and more fluidity and range of motion while climbing. I took it to Newfoundland for a 10 day ice climbing trip and wore it every day!

First time powder skiing with this Jacket
Jacket is light, warm and breaths very well and kept me comfortable all day. The temp was -5C, I do have a warmer layer if it get cold ie -20C or if my activity level slows down. So far I love the Jacket.

I got this to replace the older version of the Nordwand Thermo from around four years ago. The previous one was $550, at $300 more, no way is it better, this one has pit zips but they don't work that well. The new fabric is stiffer and way crunchy and noisy. I used it on a cold day and it was so stiff. Old one fit better was warmer and stretchy. Disappointed for the high cost of this. Not sure what happened to Mammut but their stuff is not what it used to be IMHO.
