    Ondra's signature, to be exact.

    Having one of the world's strongest sport climbers—not to mention one of the few to free the Dawn Wall—sign the Miura XX Signature Edition Climbing Shoe isn't the only update the designers at La Sportiva gave to their best-selling and most versatile sending shoe. It's nice to know that you have the same shoe that saw ascents on the hardest routes out there (Change, La Dura Dura, and La Rambla), but it's even nicer to know that La Sportiva also added the revolutionary P3 System to this revolutionary shoe. P3 balances power, precision, and performance by retaining an aggressive downturn and providing a heel cup for a secure fit. To top it off, Vibram's XS Edge grants this shoe the phenomenal edging power that climbers have loved for twenty years and counting.

    • Special edition climbing shoe celebrates its twentieth year
    • P3 System ensures an aggressive downturn for difficult climbs
    • Vibram XS Edge offers perhaps the best edging in La Sportiva
    • Leather upper with Dentex lining to reduce stretching
    • Item #LSP00CY

    Sizing much larger than Miura VS

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

    It's been difficult to find sizing info on this shoe, so hopefully this will help someone out: I think these shoes run possibly a whole euro size larger than the Miura VS. Here is a side-by-side comparison of my Miura VS and Miura XX both in size 40.5. In the same size as my Miura VS, the XX feels way too big, heel cup is much higher volume and scrapes the ankle bone - definitely too big for me. I would guess I am a 39.5 but I have not been able to locate a pair in that size so hard to say for sure.

    For reference this is what I wear in other La Sportiva shoes

    Miura VS = 40.5

    Testarossa = 40.5

    Katana Lace-up = 40

    Katana = 39.5

    TC Pro (trad fit) = 41

    Not sure what to make of this as on Jonathan Siegrist's blog piece on the La Sportiva site he says they run about the same size as the Miura VS. Not so for me, anyway.

    Sizing much larger than Miura VS

    I wear Miura VS in 40,5 and 41; Miura Laces in 40.5 and 41 and Miura XX in 41. The XX are stiffer and have a little less downturn than the VS and feel a bit larger than VS (maybe like 41.2 measured in VS size). I agree the XX heel has more volume but still less than my Scarpa Instinct. However, breaking in the XX was more painful than the VS because of stiffness. I use the XX for hard trad where I have to stand a lot on my feet (they give a lot of support and are very precise) though they are not so good with smearing. The VS 40.5 are still my favorite for hard sport climbing (they have a bit more sensitivity) in limestone and the old laces for smearing and crack climbing.

    Better Than The Best

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    The Miura VS has to be one of the best climbing shoes ever made, and the XX is even better. They're slightly less volume, slightly firmer, and have laces, which I prefer. These are great for sport climbing as they edge really well, and are the perfect balance of being aggressive and comfortable. Compared to the VS, I like the tongue of the XX better, it's a full length, free moving tongue with a lot of padding, versus the thin stationary tongue of the VS. The VS is a 10/10 and the XX is an 11/10

    I'm very sad that these are not a regular model and are a limited edition. Im thinking about grabbing another pair to put in storage, but maybe the XXX will be even sexier.
