Ignik's Heated Sleeping Bag Liner can change the degree of your sleeping bag up as high as 20 degrees. It's electronically charged to provide that level of heat for one hour, or you can spread it out on a lower setting for up to eight hours. Ignik made the exterior out of soft, recycled polyester with a heat-trapping carbon layer fixed to a groundcloth that reflects heat back your way. This liner included a USB adapter that connects the liner to compatible 5V and 12V batteries for charging.

This was everything it was advertised to be and an excellent value. Not sure why these things are so inexpensive, but they are worth it. When you use it as it was designed to be used with the recommended lithium battery, such as the Talentcell 12V (38400mAh) lithium battery, you will reap the full benefits of this liner. Above 40 degrees F outside air temperature (OAT), I have to have it on the lowest setting (blue light) or it’s too hot and I’ll start sweating like a sauna. Above 60 degrees OAT, it’s too warm for me to use this liner. I’m a 5’10” 180# male FWIW. Liner stays on reliably for 8 hours as specified using the blue setting (low). With my 12V battery I can get three nights using the low (blue) setting on one battery charge to give you an idea. I live in the mountains above 7K’ where temps regularly get down to the 40s even in the summer and this liner is perfect for it. I plan on using it for winter camping in the sub 20s and have no doubt you could use this liner down to 0 degrees on the medium (green) or high (red) modes in a basic three-season sleeping bag as long as you are wind protected. I do a lot of truck RTT camping and this liner has enabled me to do so year-round in the Rockies. I almost didn’t buy this due to the negative reviews, but am glad I did as these reviews seem to stem from people who refused to read the directions how to use it.

I used this liner roughly 3 times with a large usb batter bank and the performance was minimal at best. I then used the 12v adapter and noticed a big increase in heat. However after using it with the 12v adapter on the medium setting for one night the blanket melted and has burn marks.

Not for backpacking
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
This product needs to have a constant source of power to work. It doesn?t come with a built in battery. And even if you use your power bank, it provides meager heat while draining your battery quickly. The advertised 20° bump is only if the product is plugged into a 12V (car charger). So if you need the extra heat while sleeping in your car, van, or RV, this might be good for you. These details could have been explained better by Ignik, definitely not for backpacking.
