    Awesome

This jacket honestly makes me look forward to winter and bad weather, sadly (tragically) we just don’t get cold enough winters where I live anymore to justify wearing it. It’s so warm and cozy and SOLID it’s very reassuring and has so much pocket room you can carry everything you could ever need and still have tons of pocket left . Hand warm fleece lines then too and it’s got a waterproof membrane inside so it’s universal bad weather jacket and the faux fur zips off for convenience. Like most fjallraven it’s got a high cut collar to block wind and rain even without the use of the ENORMOUS hood. That hood! It’s like crawling into a cave somewhere high up on the side of a mountain. Great jacket. Runs big I guess to accommodate extra layers, not that you’d need many unless you’re a Viking i guess...

FINALLY, long term jacket search over!

XXl. for a 235 lbs 6'0 broad shoulders, solid build. normal length arms boxy chest THIS is perfect in every dimension. Gents, if u like mountian hardware cut you SHUD love this! --sleeves are normal length and rooomy enough that the shoulders and upper arms are not restricted AT ALL. --chest cavity is BIG but i do not swim in it like i do the anorak no8 ( thats insne big) . its plenty roomy enough to layer up but i dont know whay u wud unless u live on the north pole but a single long sleeve merino icebreaker 200 is TOTALLY adequate in temps to less 7*c. Not needed any thing more. --body cut is generous and boxy esque. not ulike mountian hardware cuts. hips are not restriced, waist is accounted for , its a roomy jacket make no mistake. --length , body length is LONG. the cut at the back is below ur bum which makes sitting on a wet seat COMFORTABLE!!!! --its wind proof, its ,to the best of my judgement , as good as your going to get. i have felt zero penetration from harsh coldish winds ( llke -mid 20s celcius ish wind chill) with pretty much zero under layering. --cufs, SUPERB!, big thick velcro straps that totally close or open wide to allow airflow.best there is IMO. --hood, big roomy but not gigantic, draw straps are easy to operate and pull tightly and securely with a nice firm brim to keep it from falling into your eyes. collar-roomy and high, comes up to the nose and out for mthe nsoe so u can breath with ease, fleece lined on the zip. so no chin rub but it wont rub anyway as its so roomy ( i have a big melon if it dont rub on my u might need to be a sumo to noitice it) and it sits high and upright , it doesnt fall over its GREAT. --zippers, on the pockets they are perfect, the main zippper is a double ender so thats fantastic for dumpin heat or riding a bikeu cna open it up and free th thighs, HOWEVER.. its a finicky thing to workf out for a bit, its stiff and the hemline onthe zipper mqkes it difficult to do up to begin with bec of the length of the jacket pulling the zip straght to conenct the double zip is a pain inthe ass!! itgets easier, but be aware u will swear at it for a bit. pockets--AWSOME and buzzillions of them, they are all replicated, apart from the inside wallet pocket, twin DEEP chest zips. an inside the zip wallet pocket( great bonus pockey) 2 HUGE outside fleece buttoned down glove pockets with 2 fleece lined hand pockets to the side and underneath them VERY cosy for keeping the non drinking hand warm when having a beer outside. a HUGE dump pocket insdie the left hip and a cpl of inside warm pockets for nick nacks. dont need anymore. its got Way enough . material- its ultra rugged, its as goood as ive seen . not brushed it on anything to test it out but a rogue poking out stick wont cut it that i can see , no way!its firm and stiff. solid material as u cud need. colour- autumn leaf is NOTHING close to resembling the colour on the sites. its a burnt orange ochre, not flashy or glowing, its matt and easy on the eye and best of all this colour is on run out bec it looks crap on the sites!!!! summary: This is a heavy , rugged, padded wind and rain proof, throwing about in the car, non heavy lifting work, ( well its prob too hot for that ) roomy , warm throw about , beer drinking, in the city jacket as you cud possibly want. Ive been on the hunt for one for 2 years and this WINS, this is my 6th fjallraven jacket anorak no8, keb light, ovik padded, skogso, sten fleece, and i think the best . i cant rate this high enough and im thinking , besides the finicky zipper WHICH WILL PISSSSS U OFF if theres any other fault , maybe the hood cud be removable , it is big so dont think ur gonna be winning many uber model catwalk awards , its a working jacket not a fashion jacket but be aware, sloughing ,legs crossed, resting on one elbow laughing with the lads with a beer in hand outside on a barrel , the ladies ,may be swooned!

    Great jacket

    Runs large
    Size Bought
    Medium
    Height
    6` 2"

    210 lbs

I've had this for a few years now, it's built very well and looks stylish. The fit is larger than most I've worn; I typically wear a large but this one is a medium. It's got a lot of pockets and is waterproof, but not super warm for cold winters like the ones here in the upper-Midwest. In that case a layer does the trick.

    Mighty odd fit

    Size Bought
    XL
    Height
    6` 2"
    Weight
    220 lbs

The coat is well-made from solid materials, but I can’t imagine a body that this XL would actually fit. I’m 6-2, 220 lbs, and I wear an XL in most coats, though sometimes I have to move up to an XXL. This particular coat was long enough overall, but it was very tight in the chest and armholes—especially the armholes—and it was 3” too long in the sleeves, though it accommodated my stomach pretty well. I bought it at 40% off, which, as it turned out, seemed like a fair price for the coat (if it had fit). I would not have paid full retail for it—it’s simply overpriced. Obviously, I sent it back.

Is the fur trim real or synthetic?

Hey joe105245067, The fur trim on this hood is synthetic.

I was going to ask the same question. Thanks!
