    Same function, lower weight.

Clip into the DMM Sentinel HMS Screwgate Carabiner for belaying, making lightweight anchors, or streamlining your rack. This mini locker complements your skinny-rope setup, and won’t snag your cord thanks to it’s keylock nose. The offset shape gives it the functionality of larger carabiners without the added weight.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My favorite carabiner... (screw gate) i’m a smaller framed guy and this carabiner just seems to compliment me well. I think DMM is the gold standard of the carabiner and quickdraw world. Highly recommend!!

    Almost perfect belay biner

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is my standard belay carabiner. The kink in the spine prevents cross-loading and it's light and compact. It could be improved on; the ergonomics of the spin lock aren't great and it tends to get spun when opening, causing it to go into a lock position while the gate is open and preventing it from closing. Also can't help but wish DMM screw locks had lock indicators like Petzl ones (I assume Petzl patented this since no one else does it).

This biner works well for ATC devices or Grigris, and even works with the automatic assist in my Mega Jul despite the I-beam construction (although it isn't the best biner for this use).

    Freakin Love this Guy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love DMM biners. Honestly I think they are the best on the market and this is no exception. I got it for anchoring in at chains and during climbs like multi-pitches. Phenomenal. The smaller I-Beam construction is awesome because it fits anywhere. It's lightweight but honestly that hasn't really affected me because I don't exactly climb Half-Dome on the weekends or anything like that. And it's DMM. They make awesome quality stuff in Britain. I highly suggest this one to anyone considering it. Well worth the bucks.

    Alpine belay biner perfection.

[Screw-gate version] DMM makes the highest build quality biners in my opinion.

This particular locker is like heavenly. Its super light. Its a clever shape for belaying that does a good job staying positioned. Its also surprisingly easy to work given its small size. Little extra beefyness in the strength ratings, as most DMM biners have.

All this makes it a great alpine locker. HMS compatible, light enough to use as just-a-locker, strong enough to not worry about, generous enough to munter with, easy enough to handle with gloves.

If I could start over on my locker collection I would just have a bunch of these, a pair of DMM Big Boas, and one Attache.

      Downright Sexy

It just feels good in your hand. I've been using it as a belay biner and even though it's on the small side for that, I like it. It's light and my grigri doesn't flop around as much as it does on other lockers.

        Great Carabiner.

I got the screw lock version of this carabiner. First of all the screw lock mechanism on this biner is already my favorite... It's such a smooth action and when tightened is super secure. The shape is the main thing that got me hooked on this. It works perfectly for munter and clove hitches. Because of the design, this biner is super lightweight and thin yet a super strong biner.

Pros: Thin yet Strong Shape, Gate, Screwlock, Light, Overall Design

          Recommended. Buy it.

          Good Small HMS Biner

I have one of these that I've used for various things, including belaying and for the end of my PAS sling, and it works well, but I prefer something slightly larger for belaying with. It also works well with a Munter on small cords, but is probably a bit small for anything over 9mm or so (although it is quite good for a self rescue biner for use with PMMO hitches tied with cordalette and the like). Since I upgraded all my rigging biners to Shadow lockers, it now lives on the rope end of a locking draw, which it also works well for. It does have the sexy feel typical of all DMM biners.

            Cool minimal/lightweight carabiner

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

A really good minimalist HMS carabiner. You won't go wrong with DMM carabiners ever.

Not a 5 Star item though. Because it's smaller the top bar is thinner and my rope can get locked up in my belay devices while feeding out and taking in slack. This is infrequent, but important to note.

The photo needs to be updated as well, the screwlock version has a keylock nose.

i plan on getting at least one more, i hope it's not true that this item is permanently out of stock-
