If you’re looking for a lightweight helmet that won’t dent your wallet, the Bell Volt RL is the one. With all of the features of its more expensive older siblings, it’ll have your head topped in safety and style on roads and trails.
Using Bell’s In-mold construction, the Volt RL is given a lightweight and comfortable design. This construction method fuses the polycarbonate outer shell with the EPS protective foam to increase structural integrity in case of a crash. Rather than separate pieces, these elements of the helmet function as one. It is a proven technology that has been adopted, in various iterations, throughout the industry. To secure the helmet to your head properly, Bell uses its Twin Axis Gear (TAG) fit system. A rear dial adjusts the circumference of the helmet while also allowing the helmet to move up and down to secure over the occipital lobe (the bump on the back of your head). Lightweight webbing used to secure the chin strap resists sweat so it won’t be covered in salt after a long ride. Finally, Bell’s SteamJet ventilation system gives you 22 vents and corresponding internal channels that help to move air across your head and out the rear exhaust ports to keep you noggin cool. A removable visor makes the helmet ideal for touring and mountain biking.
