Durable, Reliable, Lightweight. These helmets are a great bang for the buck. If you have put off buying a helmet pick one of these guys up and let your Mom relax!

    Great All Around

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I think this is a good helmet for the price. I sized up so I can wear it in winter with a hat under it so it is a bit loose on me during the summer even after tightening the back. But I expected that to happen. The only downside I've experienced is that it doesn't vent that well and my head gets super sweaty.

    Nothin' Can Knock My Noggin

I picked up this bad boy in a sleek Ultra Blue, and he hasnt let me down since. Personally, I haven't had anything larger than a pebble glancing off my dome at my local crag, but this helmet feels very very study! I would recommend it to any climber looking for a solid helmet.

    first helmet

was long lived and never had any problems, but gifted it to my brother after having it the first year still protecting his head when he is out and about on the rock.

Solid helmet at a reasonable weight. Used for both glacier and rock climbs. Wheel adjuster is key for dialing in fit to accommodate ball cap or thin fleece cap.

      Great first helmet.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have owned this helmet forever and I think that it has done well for what I've put it through. The plastic is sturdy and the adjustment system works really well. The only complaint I have is that it tips back while I belay or when I am looking up to climb. If I make the adjustment tighter, it gives me a pretty bad headache and then also imprints on my forehead. This is a really good beginner helmet for avoiding falling choss and not hitting your head, but if you are looking for protection for hard, scary climbing, maybe look into a foamy vector or viper.

      Rad helmet

I have used this on multi pitches and belaying on sport climbs, and I have to say, this helmet is amazing. It is comfortable and fits my head well. I haven't taken an impact yet, but I am confident it will do its job well.

      no impacts yet....

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

solid fit, not heavy or intrusive... i got the grey, which is nice and discreet. It has NOT taken an impact yet and, hopefully, never will (fingers crossed) so i can't vouch for it's durability yet. haha! For the price, it's a fine helmet.

      Pretty Cool..

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This helmet is pretty cool, easy to adjust and not a lot of unnecessary bells and whistles. It's comfortable to wear and gives me peace of mind for safety.

      Solid Purchase

Nice and simple helmet. I purchased it in Deep Torch and love the color. Fits my head just fine, and it's a great deal.

      Pumpkin Head

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This seems to be the gold standard for helmets.. if it fits your head. I needed a solid climbing helmet and didn't want to break the bank. I don't think I have an abnormally large head, but this helmet just didn't fit correctly. It sat very high on my head and I felt like it wouldn't give me the coverage that I needed while climbing. I sadly returned :(

      I love this helmet!

Do you know why? Because the S/M size fits me properly. If this helmet fits you properly too, you will also like it. My last helmet was too big at it's smallest adjustment. And that was the only adult size, the child size was too small. I didn't know better when I bought it. Nothing like a helmet flopping around forward and back as you climb to annoy you. When I used this new helmet this last weekend, I didn't even notice it. That is the sign of a good helmet.

        Great Helmet

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Ive been using this helmet for almost a year now & I have no complaints. It fits great & has plenty of room to adjust. Sits nice & low on your head & fits easily under a hood. Has perfect spot to mount any Gopro mounts etc. Holds my BD headlamp like a champ. If you're thinking about buying this helmet, just do it! You wont regret it. Especially for the money!

        Great for Tree climbing!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My kids and I use these for tree climbing. These helmets just seem to mold perfectly around your head. The straps are super comfortable and the outer shell seems to be very durable. They've definitely saved us a time a to while ascending trees. As with anything, if it's not comfortable, you're not going to wear it. These helmets fit perfectly and are super comfortable to wear all day long.

        A total clasic

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I tried very different models and brands before, and this is the best with out a doubt. great fit, fresh, light, good prize.
        no need for more!

Where haven't you seen the helmet!? This helmet is your intro into ALL things climbing and what-not. It does it all. Canyoneering, Rock, Ice, Alpine, hanging Christmas tree lights and of course, the versatility of turning it into a beer dispenser with some imagination and some zip ties. For the quality, safety and price point, go with the most recognized and most used helmet in the mountains....The Half-Dome.

I didn't see any indication if this helmet...

I didn't see any indication if this helmet is certified as CE EN 12492 or UIAA 106?

I'm in between sizes in nearly everything....

I'm in between sizes in nearly everything. Any recommendations for someone with a 21 7/8 head?...I would like to use it both for summer and winter (with and without a beanie underneath).

I would suggest a medium large also, and with the scroll wheel in the back it will help dial in the fit. If you still wanted to try the helmet on, most local outdoors stores should carry this helmet. I know my local REI carries this helmet.
