Great sticks but has some issues

I would have given a 5 rating except for the issue described below. Just finished a 480 mile hike with these sticks and loved them except for one problem. The plastic cover on one of FlipLocks broke off on one of the adjust mechanisms. Normally not a problem but this exposed some sharp edges on the FlipLock that when carrying on my Osprey pack would catch on the fabric of pack side pouches. Nothing happened but it concerns me that it could rip the mesh on the pack. The picture shows the normal adjustment mechanism and the one where the cover broke off.

    Carbon Trek Pole

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very light and easy to use. Each pole weighs 8.3 oz. For carbon would expect a little lighter pole. the Cork is great for soaking up the sweaty heads;.

    Freaking Light!!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These poles have been with me for a few seasons now and I am just now replacing them!! They are light and are trifoldable. The cork handle really gives them a good feel and at the end of the worth every penny.

My second pair and still my favorite.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These poles are the best trekking poles i've ever had. used my first pair extensively until they broke when I fell on a steep hike and braced myself with the pole.. My first pair traveled about 500 solid, backpacking/hiking miles. I used them weekly in the mountains of utah and backpacked with them on the JMT, Tetons, Grand Canyon and several other spots. I love the cork grips. My hands never sweat. I also love the adjustment buckles for the sizing system. They are great if you use a tent that requires your trekking poles, which I do. Awesome product.

    Cadillac-ac-ac-ac-ac-ac

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

They say, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth," but here I go... These poles are sturdy, lightweight, and collapsible. I've used them hiking, scrambling, and climbing. At two feet long and half a pound, I almost always bring at least one along (e.g., one pairs well with an ice axe for traversing uneven snow/ice). The FlickLock need a little fine tuning to dial in the tension but have proven durable. These poles are fairly pricy when compared with some other options, but you get what you pay for!

Do these come with the new "FlickLock Pro" or the older plastic "FlickLock" version?
