Fulfilling your enduro dreams with its aggressively low stance and extremely slack geometry, the Santa Cruz Carbon CC Eagle X01 Complete Mountain Bike is purposely designed for riders taking on the steepest, most technical terrain that's usually reserved for full-on downhill rigs. Not surprisingly, the Nomad takes design cues from downhill-specific bikes with its 65 degree head tube angle, snappy-short 17.05in chainstays, and low-slung 13.39in bottom bracket.
Although the Nomad is set-up with descending at the forefront of its mind, it's a surprisingly adept climber on your way to downhill-crushing supremacy. Thank Santa Cruz's CC-level carbon frame for its spry finesse and lightweight efficiency on the uphill, especially compared to other long-travel bruisers, which more often than not, have you pushing uphill when the going gets steep. CC-level carbon shaves 280 grams from the C-level carbon found on lower spec builds, all without sacrificing strength or stiffness.
Sitting at the heart and soul of the Nomad, Santa Cruz's VPP suspension platform returns with a V10-style upper link and recessed lower link for protection from rock strikes. This highly efficient pedaling platform offers improved mid-stroke support and small bump compliance, all while smoothing out bigger hits and drops on rowdy terrain. 165mm of rear travel via a RockShox Monarch Plus shock delivers smooth travel and sensitivity, with Rapid Recovery for maintaining composure between successive hits.
This exceptional X01 build includes a stout 170mm RockShox Lyrik RTC3 fork, which soaks up the gnarliest terrain without flinching. The X01 1x11 drivetrain offers a wide range of usable gears with its massive 10-42t cassette, allowing you to climb without sacrificing low-end on steep sections. Adding to the bike's aggressive descending ability, the included RockShox Reverb Stealth dropper offers on-the-fly saddle adjustments. Rounding things out, excellent SRAM Guide RSC brakes slow you down in a hurry on rapid downhill runs and technical stretches of trail.
