Why We Like The BC 80 Positrack Ski

In Rossignol's massive collection of cross country skis, the BC 80 Positrack Ski is the second widest nordic ski for backcountry touring. Designed to move swiftly through varied terrain, the BC Ski combines a feathery light wood core with a generous sidecut and modest tip rocker to encourage easy turning off the track. Despite its light weight, the BC surprisingly supports full-length steel edges for solid grip and control when you're explorations take downhill. A waxless base brings the best balance of kick and glide that Rossignol has to offer.

Great backcountry nordic skis

Ridden these 11 times so far and am very impressed. They handle well in varied conditions. The metal edges allow for efficient turning - more kin to an alpine ski. The scales work effectively in all but the steepest terrain (I bought the accompanying skins for steeper stuff but haven't tried yet, will write a review on those once I do). The glide and downhill is great as well. These seem to outperform others in the speed category. The skis are super lightweight and handle well in varied conditions including - powder, plowed roads and crud. And ok in icy conditions. Use these out my front door mostly for exploring nearby state park and national forest. Also used in multiple ungroomed sno-parks in the area. Broken trail in 1inch-1ft of powder - these work great.

Unbelievably Good

I was looking for a set of hybrid style skis that I could use on some local groomed trails and that I could use just out of the house. After they got the bindings on I picked these up and went right out to a groomed trail- I was blown away at how stable these skis are. I'm very interested to see how they perform out on some un-groomed powder, but am very thrilled by how much fun these were today. They are very light, responsive, and that full metal edge is superior to the other skis I've tried. Going to be a very fun season!
