Past years I had been using Pearl Izumi's with the cushion pads on palms, then upgraded to Giro's with cushion in the palms. That was my old school thought , thinking that good riding gloves needed padding. At first, i was not confident in purchasing these minimalist type Yeti gloves with no padding and thin looking palm area on them. Thought I would give them a try since I bought a new Yeti bike this year and was upgrading my riding kit. I've been riding Yeti gloves most of this year and found they are amazing compared to my old gloves. With out padding in the glove my hands are more comfortable and experience less fatigue. This is also possibly due to using the most current grips on the new bike as compared to the old stuff. The thinner palm area has proved durable and after 10 months of riding this style of Yeti glove shows no wear. The thinner palm area provides a better grip especially for my smaller hands. On really long rides there is no twisting and bunching up in the grip area which caused rug burn sensation with the older style gloves with the padding in the palm. I was already sold on Yeti Gloves and then bought the Turq Dot Air Gloves recently. These have all the above benefits but with an additional good feeling wicking sensation. Must be due to the fabric they use but feels like hand is wrapped in a cloud of cotton softness or something, very comfortable and keeping hands dryer. I might be exaggerating and cant quite pin it down on that great feeling. You will just need to give these a try for yourself to see what I'm talking about.
