Why We Like The Weston Backwoods Snowboard
The aptly named Weston Backwoods Snowboard is a freeride destroyer we love for pointing down pow fields or tight tree runs but also riding more technical big mountain lines as well. This versatility is achieved by taking a typical directional powder board shape with a wider nose, narrow tail, and set back stance and throwing in a stiffer than expected flex. This shape drops the tail for excellent float in deep pow while providing the stability needed to rail hard turns on bigger faces.

This board has come in clutch in all types of snow and situations from icy groomer days to those dreamy waist-deep powder days. It floats easily and can carve like a dream. It is definitely my go-to resort board and I look forward to someday getting a splitboard version of the Backwoods. Very manueverable and forgiving as well!

Obviously this shape excels at pow. What has been great is how well it worked taking my kid on the groomers and beginner terrain. the sidecut allows quick yet reliable turns. ive used it in much more variable conditions then i expected to.

A do it all board!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This board can really do everything, has some taper to it and this makes it super nimble, so if you loves tree runs or if you just want something that is quick edge to edge, this it the board! Wider nose and smaller tail, makes this board float really well on those powder days. What is really cool about this board as well is how much fun it is on groomers as well. I can honestly say this board is a quiver killer, if you are looking for one board to do it all from powder to all mountain runs and freestyle.

The backwoods absolutely rips snow! I’ve used this board inbounds and backcountry on numerous powder day and I love ripping it through the trees and bowls. Its short tail makes it nimble enough to make tight closer turns around and through tree gaps while the directional tapered shape lets you generate and hold speed on the rolls/flats. But don’t be fooled just because it loves the trees and meadows doesn’t mean you can’t open it up with some big arching turns in big powder fields. I wish I could upload all the photos I have on this board to show y’all how much fun it really is!

Been riding these for the past 5 years in different years models. Super damp, stiff but not crazy and just rips everything you can throw at it. Sled snowboarding, corduroy, pow days, everything!

The backwoods is my goto for everything. It rips groomers, floats through powder, pinpoints it's way through trees, and handles all the stuff in between. I ride a wide board and the Backwoods doesn't sacrifice anything in the wide version. I bought the same board for both my split and solid because it works that well.
