Rubino Pro Endurance G2.0 Tire
When conditions are extreme, Vittoria's Rubino Pro Engurance G2.0 Clincher Tire is built to keep you rolling with confidence. It features intensely tough flat protection across the sidewalls and center treat, and an aggressive tread pattern built for variable conditions. It utilizes the revolutionary Graphene compound, a carbon-based material with variable properties that change depending on the load being applied to the tread — this means when you're rolling straight, the center tread hardens for quick-rolling speed, and upon cornering the tread softens for intense grip. Built to last over long winter training miles and inclement early season races, this tire features exceptional all-weather grip, will handle sub-freezing temperatures with ease, and rolls fast over the toughest roads.
Vittoria constructs the Rubino Pro Endurance with a triple compound designed to provide a balance of durability, flat protection, fast rolling speed, and solid cornering grip in both dry and wet conditions. This newest iteration switches things up from the G+ Isotech we saw used before, and gets a little more specific and deliberate with its Graphene placement, creating the all new G2.0 compound. G2.0 starts with the same carbon-graphite base as the G+, but is a bit more strategic about its placement, instead of adding it to the entire batch of rubber. This means that it can be targeted to boost grip in the corners, and reduce rolling resistance, without adding more than there needs to be and increasing weight and bulk. The results? A tire that is fast and supple regardless of weather and will conquer the roughest of roads with the smoothness of a racing tire and the durability of a training tire.
- Vittoria's favorite endurance tire just got techier
- G2.0 targets graphene placement for improved performance
- Graphene hardens on smooth, flat surfaces, reducing rolling resistance
- Elevate cornering grip with Graphene's dynamic properties
- Tread pattern is designed to boost control in variable conditions
- Puncture-resistant design helps to keep flats at bay
- 3 compounds in tread increase wear life and performance

I bought two of these in a 28mm clincher on the recommendation of a Gear Head after I told her I was looking to turn my winter bike into a "gravel bike light". Man she was right. No noticeable issues with mounting so nothing else to say about that. The tires perform exceptionally well on wet and dry pavement, sandy pavement, and wet or dry gravel roads. No, they don't roll as fast as a set of Conti 5000's or absorb shocks like a 40mm Schwalbe Tubeless. But for the purpose of giving your road bike a the ability to get outside its normal comfort zone with confidence these tires have been fantastic. I have run them down to 30 degrees F. and they were still grippy and flawless. In the approximately 600 miles of chip-seal, gritty New England winter roads and gravel roads that I have run these on I have not had a single flat nor can I find a blemish in the outer casing of either tire. I have found that 68psi front/ 72psi rear works well for me as a 175 pound rider delivering a nice mix of comfort and performance with no pinch flats. If I had to find a fault with these tires it would be their weight. The table on this website is incorrect (how could the 28mm weigh significantly LESS than the 25mm and 23mm?) One of my 28mm weighed in at approximately 430 grams. Does that heavy weight matter to me for the type of riding I am using these for and for the performance they have delivered? Not at all. If you are looking for a great set of "work boots" for your road bike then these are the right tires for you.

i'm curious how these handle gravel and hard-pack/off-road conditions...? would love to hear some feedback from those with hands on experience.

Hey Luke. I have been running these in a 28mm for a few hundred miles of an even mix sandy New England winter roads and gravel roads. I have put them through their paces and encountered some pretty sharp nasty gravel, mud and even a little single track. Not a single flat. Not a nick in the outer casing of either tire.
