    Vans SK8-Hi MTE Boot

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

I bought these for a month of traveling and camping. They're water resistant, have solid tread, and are comfortable. If you pair them with a nice pair of wool socks, they're quite warm. The sole is sturdier than a typical vans shoe, so you can get away with more hiking you would expect. I plan to keep a pair of Vans MTE in my rotation. They're my go-to for playing disc golf.

After breaking mine in, I wish I had sized down a half size.

    Awesome lightweight option for winter

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I'm biased because I almost exclusively wear vans. I think I've had 15 pairs of the chucka lows over the last 10 years. I have a wide last and vans are one of the few shoe brands that fit my feet without having to go up a couple sizes. These do run a little narrower than other vans I've had, but they're already breaking in after less than a week. They are a little insulated, but not so insulated that they get too hot indoors. Work great in the snow and slush at keeping you feet dry.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large

This is purely a review on the fit since I returned them after trying on. I typically wear an 8.5 or 9, so I ordered both sizes. I found both to be far too long. Also, these seem to run fairly skinny. If you have wide feet, they may be irritating. The style is definitely cool and I wish they would have worked out for me, but the comfort just wasn't what I was looking for.

    Sharp looking and warm...er

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

These look awesome, fit well and the "reversed" sole actually provides great grip. However.... from a warmth standpoint, they're still Vans. Regular Vans are perhaps second only to Chuck Taylors for the coldest-shoe-on-the-planet award. Don't plan on these being UGG's that actually look good, but they are warm enough to handle cold days. Listen to your mom and stick to actual boots to really keep you warm and dry.

Vans Knocked it out of the Park!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8.5

These things are awesome. Sizing is spot on. These fit very similar to the Classic vans. Vans took their classic waffle grip sole and reversed it to give you more traction in the snow and on the ice. I recently did a 2 hour hike on them and my feet stayed dry the entire time. I cannot be any happier with these boots. The colors are awesome too. I got the Black/Rosin color and they are like a military green with black and I get compliments on them everyday.

    • Fit: True to size

I bought these as a gift and they have been really happy with them. A little heavier which is great for the winters here, and Vans have always held up decent for us. Fit was true to size, if you've ever had vans you know what size you need.

    Classic and awesome!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Got a pair of these just before Christmas, and have had nothing but good things to say about them. First off is the fit. Very comfortable, and true to size. Was a little skeptical as I was told to order a size up, but went with my typical size and was glad I did. The warmth these shoes provide is also very noticeable. It is in the low 30's here in Salt Lake currently, and I have yet to need a heavier sock or such with these. The insulation is perfect, and the scotchgard is a nice touch as well. The reverse waffle sole also helps with improved grip in situations when needed. There is a reason I keep coming back to Vans shoes... they just last.

    Dissapointed in Vans Warranty Service

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 10.5

I bought these shoes in the all black leather version at a skateboard shop in Toronto and they fit very well. The salesperson told me that they would stretch out a bit but they didn't they just blew apart on the instep where the sole meets the upper. I contacted Vans Canada re. warranty with the receipt and a picture of the problem and have not heard anything back after a week and 2 different attempts. I love Vans products but I wouldn't expect to receive any warranty support if the shoes break down.

Classic look with a toasty boot feel.

If you love your Vans and want to wear them through the colder months get these! I've worn them all day for a week and they broke in well already. I was skeptical how the tread would perform but it's been good. Walked through snow multiple times and my feet were warm. The padded ankles are nice. Lots of designs to choose from. Fit is true. Pretty affordable.

Good looking warm shoe for winter

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 10.5

It's not quite winter yet here in Utah, but since I have these shoes, I'm ready for it. These are super nice, good looking, and will keep your feet plenty warm on chilly mornings. Fit is good, true to size. High quality, as per usual for Vans.

      Vans for the Winter!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Finally - Vans makes shoes that wear well in the winter! Reverse waffle = traction. Fleece lining = toasty. Scotchguard = dry. Classic Vans styling = rad. As a longtime Vans enthusiast, these make me pretty happy.

      I am a big fan!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I have always loved VANS shoes, but not so much in the snow. My old vans would get soaked from the snow, and traction was just about the worst thing ever. With the new design the waffle goes out instead of in, giving you MUCH more traction. The fleece liner is very nice, keeping your feet nice and toasty, and the shoe is high enough that your ankles do not get cold from the snow. I would not recommend skating in them if you want that sole to last, nor would I suggest snowshoeing or anything extremely cold in them. I WILL be ordering more

In this shoe will not be cold at 30-35 degrees below zero?
