Atlas Gore Active Shell Jacket
On stormy days you either wait for the rain to pass or get soaked to the bone, right? Your other option is to run with a shell on, but those are usually so stuffy and uncomfortable that you'd rather take the "soaked to the bone" route. Well thanks to the Under Armour Atlas Gore Active Shell Jacket you'll have waterproof protection that keeps itself plenty breathable while you move. Whether you're heading for a speedy hike or a long trail run, you'll love the 3-layer Gore-Tex Active fabric, giving you durable waterproof protection with highly breathable performance. And when you're really cooking, ventilated slits at the front and back yoke will let in that extra dose of cooling airflow to keep you moving.
The adjustable hood will shut out the storm to keep your head dry, and thanks to the moldable brim you won't have to sacrifice visibility. Two chest pockets keep energy gels and other important items close by, and one of the pockets even features an audio port and secure elastic holder for your phone, so you can rock out while you run. Best of all, this jacket packs down into its own chest pocket, ensuring that you can tuck it away and easily carry it along when your run clears up and sunny skies abound.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: large
- Height: 5'10"
- Weight: 173lbs
Had a chance to try it out in the rain yesterday and was glad I had it! Size large was fine for me and that is what I generally wear. It fit fine over my running vest. Definitely kept the water out while still breathing without overheating. The hood is I little hard to adjust down, which does need to be done if there is a breeze. I will have to play with that a bit. It also definitely impacts your ability to hear, but I'll take that over a cold and wet outing. At first I thought the sleeves were a bit short, but the bit of tension helps keep the water moving off, and with arms bent in a running motion, it wasn't really an issue.
Never Got To Use This
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: Large
- Weight: 160lbs
This jacket looks well constructed. The top vents on both the front and back of the jacket are sleek. The sizing is off though. I have a few items from Under Armour that are in size Medium that fit me great. For reference I am 5'10 and weigh 160 lbs. I read that this jacket runs a little small. I ordered a size Large. It is short in the sleeves. It is constructed up top when fully zipped. It does not leave room for layers. It will not fit over a helmet of any sort. For $300 you would expect more out of a jacket. I will not be ordering a size XL seeing as how it will now cost me $7 to return this jacket. I took a gamble, and I lost.
