Big and wild fish await the willing few.

Escape the crowds to find big and wild fish with the Umpqua Tongass Fly Fishing Backpack. This waterproof pack will carry everything you need for a full day on remote rivers and streams whether you're traveling by boat or foot. Its durable and waterproof 420D fabric is TPU welded to prevent moisture from seeping through, and the pack has a roll-top closure on both the main and front pockets to keep all your gear dry if happen to take a slider while you wade.

With comfort in mind, Umpqua padded the shoulder straps and waist belt and integrated a vertically vented back panel for all-day comfort. The main compartment will easily carry an insulating layer, rain jacket, gloves, and a tablet device. The front compartment is ideal for carrying a lunch or extra fly boxes, or can removed entirely when you're going light. Two rod tubes can be secured between the front compartment and pack, while stretch mesh pockets along the side will carry either fly boxes or water bottles. Attach your net to the D-ring, and you'll be ready to fish from sunup to sundown with this fully-featured fly fishing backpack.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This thing is a hoss, and I expect it will come in handy on some of my full day trips that take me way back. My only suggestion, and this goes for virtually every bag maker except fishpond, would be to make a better way for stowing nets. Although this bag has several straps and a plastic loop that work for the purpose, it would be nice to have a specifically designed net handle sleeve. This would accommodate the net securely, instead of leaving the net dangling from the pack for ever branch to grab.
