White Heat Down Parka

Inspired by cold Norwegian winters, the UBR Women's White Heat Down Parka is constructed to withstand whatever conditions you encounter with simple, timeless, functional style. The waterproof, breathable material ensures you'll stay protected during snowstorms and spring drizzles, and prevents you from overheating so you'll remain comfortable if the day heats up. The material is stretchy, too, for an unhindered range of motion as you go about your day. Down insulation traps your body heat for reliable warmth in the most frigid conditions, but remains impressively lightweight, making this beautiful piece suitable for travel. Handwarmer pockets offer up a protective place to shield your fingers from the chill, and a detachable faux fur collar adds softness and extra warmth when the wind starts to gust. Finished off with a sleek, fitted cut, the White Heat looks just as good with black slacks and heels as it does with skinny jeans and your favorite winter boots.

Warm coat with a slim silhouette

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
Runs small

Warm without the extra bulk creating an attractive line. Details are well thought out, including super soft faux fur neck lining and magnetic “snaps”. I was seeking A warm coat without a fur detail which is difficult to find these days, and is attractive without that ‘extra’. This coat makes it a pleasure to go out in the cold weather.

This coat is very lightweight and yet warm. Perfect for around town in cold weather. It looks dressier than the usual snow and rain parka which is great for throwing over my dress pants. The faux fur is super soft and the coat is very comfortable. I sized up from a large to an extra large, as I want to layer and it runs small. When the coat has room for some air, it is also warmer. The lightweight factor of the coat was a plus in keeping it.

I bought this $1K parka for my wife in May 2018 after researching different brands. Chose this one for the features and understated high end features and promised warmth. It is a nice parka, and my wife wore it a few times over the winter, but ended up preferring a full length Canada Goose Mystique parka. Kept the UBER for more formal occasions and stored it in the closet on a hanger. November 2019 comes around and she goes to get the parka on a cold day. The lettering on the inner label has started to come off. Some are stuck to the wooden hanger. The UBER logo lost the U and the R and other words are missing letters, which got stuck to the hanger. How does a $1,000 parka have this issue after being worn a few times and then put away on a hanger after the winter season? Contacted Backcountry with this issue and am told that warranty issues have to be handled directly by UBER, which is now UBR. The new branding lost a letter, just like my wife's parka did. Had this been a lower-tier jacket, sure, I could understand that they have to cut corners to make the product at that price. But for a $1,000 parka, this kind of issue is just not acceptable. If UBER or UBR (or in our case "JB") has parkas with label lettering that comes off after a year, how do I know the rest of the parka will hold up? I've contacted UBR warranty (through their general email of "info@ubr.no") with this issue and several pictures, and will see what if anything they will do about this poor product quality. Other companies, like Patagonia, have lifetime warranties and will repair or replace their products if anything goes wrong. Canada Goose also has a lifetime warranty. Should have spent the money there. Other considerations: the parka runs small and has narrow shoulders. My wife usually wears an XS, but had to size up to be able to move her arms.

Is this a joke? Long complaint for a printing issue on a label, which affects nothing. This does not represent a poor quality garment. I guarantee you a lifetime warranty from any company does not cover the metallic ink on the label.

I ordered this coat and I think it's well worth the money. Compared it to an ArcTeryx which was not warm enough and a North Face Cryos which was not long enough. The fur at the neck of this coat is awesome! It does run small so I had to return my size S (I'm 5'6, 120 lbs). It fit but was pretty snug with a bulky layer underneath. Now I'm just patiently waiting until they restock a Medium.

I love this coat! I tried on over 15 parkas to find the perfect fit. I was mainly looking for a very warm parka, that covered my behind, was waterproof, and somewhat flattering. I have tried Arcteryx, Marmot, Canada Goose, all warm North Face coats, Patagonia, and Moose Knuckles (multiple styles). With all the coats I tried, not one of them fit me right until I tried Uber. This coat fits me like a glove. I already tested this coat in the rain and zero degree weather. It is very warm and the rain did not penatrate the coat. The material is very soft and I enjoy wearing it. The hood is perfect; the magnetic closures help keep out the cold or rain but it doesn’t fall below your eyes. Jean from Backcountry reached out to me after ordering a Moose Knuckles parka and she was very helpful in finding me the perfect coat. Thank you, Jean!

Great coat, but did not fit my wife

My wife was looking for a winter coat, that would be very warm (she is always cold) and be very waterproof. She wanted a coat that she could ware to work, but also on winter outings. We ordered the Arc'teryx Patera Down Parka - Women's coat and UBER White Heat Down Parka - Women's coat both in a medium. My wife is 5’11 130lbs with broad swimmers shoulders and very athletic build. We compared the coats, and she ended up choosing the Arc’teryx based solely on the fit. To us it seemed the Uber was a much higher quality coat. The magnetic closures were awesome. She stated that the Uber coat was much warmer, and much lighter and looked less bulky. The matriels on the Uber felt far nicer then the Arc’teryx The problem with the Uber coat was the length, for someone of her height, the coat only came to just below her seat. She was looking for a longer length. The Arc’teryx has been a good coat, she has noticed she needs to lawyer a little more under it, but it has been very wind and water restitent. The fit of the Arc’teryx is perfect on her.

Love, love, love this jacket. Very light and warm. Extremely stylish and have received many compliments. Very well made and definitely well thought out, has zippers on lower pockets and separate hand warmer pockets in the right places. No tacky logos. Doesn’t make me look like a bear. Wear it dog walking, shopping, symphony, anywhere and everywhere! Runs small. Returned small for a medium, which fits perfectly.

I have never come close to spending this much on an item of clothing, but I was tired of being "The Girl Who is Always Cold." She's no fun. I love this jacket although I've only worn it a couple times (like right now). It feels very nice while being more subtle than a Canada Goose. It's very warm, lightweight, will travel great, and looks good too. It just feels good to put on. My only nit-picky thing is I wish the cuffs were tighter or the arms a snitch longer, but it doesn't bother me much because it has some stretch. (I posted a photo but I think it is showing up as a second review).
