Asleep in seconds! Light and very comfortable!
Adopted a pitty puppy Very cute Didn't have any supplies - adopted too soon Grace was at my house?? Helping train new dog (insisting on helping actually) Took dog to old warehouse Kelly and Andy - rappelling using weirds wall mounted wall anchor at the word restaurant ******************** These were the dream notes I typed out, half asleep early this morning, after accidentally falling asleep while testing this sleeping pad on my hardwood floor (still fully clothed and with the lights on). I'm upgrading from a self-inflating therm-a-rest from the early 90s (these things last forever). I wanted something lighter, but was worried a lighter pad would mean sacrificing comfort -- I sure was wrong! You want a light sleeping pad AND a good night's rest? Get this one.

Light and easy; not comfy enough for me

I love how lightweight this pad is, and the ease with which it inflates and breaks down. It's super functional. But it's pretty firm and close to the ground, which doesn't work for a side sleeper with hips. I sleep so poorly every time I use it. I'm trading up for a slightly more cushy mat and better night sleep even if I have to carry a bit more weight.

Favorite pad ever

I have been on a search for a warm, durable, comfortable & relatively lightweight pad for backpacking for the past years and this has proved to be the perfect one for me. Many inflatable air pads have me feeling like I'm going to fall off the side, have popped, weren't comfortable or were not warm enough. The ProLite is warm and there are never cold spots on the surface when I shift around. It is lower to the ground so I can stretch out more. The valve is super handy, you only need one hand to adjust it. The amount of firmness/support the pad gives is great for me - I like to sleep on somewhat firmer surfaces - and it's still comfy. It is a pretty minimal pad overall so if you need something soft and fluffy this isn't what I'd recommend. It's totally quiet to move around on and the material is really durable. I have a pretty ultralight set up so the pad takes up a decent amount of space in my pack, but there's still room for everything I need. Love this sleeping pad!

Too Short for the Average Woman
This pad is designed specifically for women, but at 66 inches (5.5 feet) long, that's only 1 inch longer than the average woman's height of 5'4"". Considering most people don't put their heads right up to the edge of the mattress when sleeping, this pad will leave you with your feet hanging off the edge. I sleep on my side and this pad is not great for that at all, based on the specs and my personal experience. I also think that an R-value of 2.7 is too low. Even though I don't foresee myself camping in the winter time, I'm upgrading to a pad with a least a 4.0 R-value because I'd rather have the extra insulation. I also found it incredibly difficult to put this pad back into the included stuff sack - I ended up buying a whole new one because it was too much of a struggle and it really didn't need to be... Overall, if you only plan on camping when it's really warm out (like dead of summer) AND you're very short, then this pad might work for you.

My favourite piece of gear
I purchased my Prolite 4 Reg Women´s (as it was called then) back in 2005 (!) and it has served me well during all these years. Never any problem with leakage, punctures or anything. Even though it is heavier and bulkier than many of the air mattresses available today, I love the sturdiness (I am less concerned about it getting punctures and have even used it directly on the ground), the lack of noice, and how it actually self-inflates - no need to blow my lungs out or use a pump sack. It just rolls out and in a couple of minutes it is ready. I have used mine on long winter trips in Alaska (together with a Z-Lite), at Svalbard, and in the mountains of Norway all seasons. Sadly, last week I forgot it outside in our yard after drying it in the sun, and during the night our robot mower went over it, creating several long cuts up in the valve area and at the bottom. I have tried to fix it but it was beyond repair. Nearly 15 years of heavy use and so many memories connected to it, I am not mentally capable of throwing it yet.

I would buy it again
This is great for ground warmth! Doesn't fill by itself, I have to blow it up every use, not difficult, about 5 breaths.

Love my new pad
I am hiking the Appalachian trail and it makes my nights very comfortable. I have always used a Z rest and made the change for this trip. It is a little bulkier but worth it. I am only rolling it and not keeping it in the bag provided which you need to fold in half and then roll.

Will self inflate by the time you wake up
Trying to see if I can return and get a different one. Takes 30mins to 1hour to self inflate.

Great mat
It fits perfectly for my small size (5'2"") and it is super comfortable. I would take a slightly larger and longer one only when I do very cold winter camping (-20°C).
