Not too warm and not too cold.

Carve up the frontside or chase powder on the backside with The North Face Men's Warm Tights beneath your snow-shell pants. The North Face designed this midweight tight to provide maximum insulation during low- to medium-intensity activities in cold weather. The Warm Tight's wicking fabric pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you dry and comfortable. FlashDry technology improves dry time and breathability to allow your body to regulate its temperature more efficiently, and an anti-odor treatment helps on long vacations without laundry machines.

    very warm

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 200lbs

Ive had many different styles of base layers over the years and these are my favorite. very warm and wickable. fits close to skin and is soft feeling. No odor after much use.

    Great Baselayer

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I got these for my boyfriend to wear hiking, snowshoeing, etc. These are great for the price! They are very warm and comfortable to wear all day outside. They fit him true to size and he loves them! He wears them all the time.

    Lightweight, skin tight fit

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 140lbs

I like the light weight fabric and skin tight fit of this base layer. It stretches well with movement and keeps me warm and dry.

    Not a great fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 2xl
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 300lbs

Have to say I am disappointed in the way these fit. I wear a size 40 jean and bought the 2xl and they’re baggy everywhere except past the thigh then I have trouble keeping them up? First north face product I’ve bought and for $25 I’m keeping them because they will work but disappointed in the fit

    The worst

I've tried several different base layers and the fit on this product is the worse. Overall this is a trend over the years of North Face failing. I purchased this on a great sale price so I thought I would go for it. What a disappointment. As base layer leggings go, Marmot is one of the companies that set the standard that makes this option feel like a waste of money when it is on my body. I have some Burton base layers that perform well, fit well, make me feel like I'm getting my dollars worth. I have some Craft base layer pants that have held up great over the years. This is the last time I've going to try North Face because they feel like a company that skimps on product performance compared to other brands that they compete with in the market.

Cold Year - Warm Gear (pants edition)

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 150lbs

It was a cold winter out here in Utah; I bought new gloves, new socks and a new jacket. Then I got into ski touring and I had to buy new skins…a new pair of ski pants…and some AT bindings…But you get it, winter sports come with a lot of preparations, and those preparations don’t come cheap. That’s why I was pleased to find The North Face Warm Tights, a super warm, durable, breathable base layer at a price that can’t be beat. I’ve hiked a lot of big mountains in these tights, they keep me cool on the way up and warm on the way down and the anti-odor treatment keeps me smelling fresh at the bar. I’ve been warm all winter and I owe thanks, in large part to The North Face Warm Tights.

      Good Midweight

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 175lbs

They are soft, comfortable and fit true to size. They are a little too warm for me for skiing at the resort. For me they are best camping or climbing in cold weather. I prefer merino for my base layers but these work good enough.

      TNF Layering System

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large/Reg
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 185lbs

When you spend a lot of time outdoors in the winter, you end up with a cold weather layering system. I am an avid skier and combined with the TNF Warm Crew Neck Top (Item #TNF00U1), I have a solid baselayer system great for resort skiing. Under these Warm Tights I wear the Ex Officio Give-N-Go Boxer Briefs and on top the Marmot Spire Pants and that is all I have needed down to single digit temps. The FlashDry material dries easily but it is not very odor resistant compared to natural materials like Merino wool. Affordable price for a good baselayer.

      Really Warm

      • Size Bought: med
      • Height: 5'5"
      • Weight: 150lbs

I bought these for my husband. He was freezing at work on the docks. He was really impressed by the fit, the warmth, and how fast they dry when he sweats. Bought a med, could've gotten away with a small.

      Reliable base layer

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: L
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 190lbs

I've had several pairs of these tights. They're a great base layer for skiing. Nothing fancy they just do the job they were designed for.

      Great gift

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: medium
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 175lbs

I got these for my boyfriend. For reference, he wears a size 34 in jeans and the medium fit him perfectly. He said they were definitely warm and very comfortable for bike riding.

      Everyday Apparel

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Snow riders and mountain enthusiasts will love this base layer. Good in all but the warmest of spring days, where the light tight might be better. It fits true to size and I am 5'5" with 28in inseam and wear a small. I have used and abused these leggings and had no issue whatsoever. Sometime I even wear them a few days in a row, don't tell anyone.

      Warm Tight indeed

      • Fit: True to size

It's been a cold week here in Utah. It was pretty consistently -5 to -6 degrees at Alta the other day so it was a good test for these. I wore them under my TNF Freedom Pants and was toasty warm all day! ..except for my toes, they were numb. But really, these things are great. Quite comfy as well.

I'm 6'2" about a 34 inch waist and kind of skinny..size Medium is perfect!

      Great Cold Weather Pant

This is my go to base layer for the coldest days of the year- I'd say any time the temp isn't getting about 10F. It's comfortable and Flash Dry technology allows for quicker drying than similar pants, particularly when you pair it with vented pants. I prefer this cut over the boot cut just because I have that added security when hiking in powder, where the boot cut tends to ride up sometimes. Plus, in my experience, it tends not to retain odors as much as some of the other base layers on the market.
