Why We Like The Stormbreak 2 Tent

From short backpacking excursions to weekend camping trips, the Stormbreak 2 gives us plenty of room for starfish snoozing and rainy-day lazing. The coated fly and floor stop surprise showers from gaining entry, while the steep wall design gives us extra elbow room for a heated game of cards. When the sky clears and the sun beats down, we fix open the vestibule doors to let those balmy post-storm breezes pass through.

Had for years now, never let me down

Bought the storm break 2 years ago when a local shop was shutting down on sale. And even if I didn't get it on sale I would buy it again in a heart beat. I have probably about 130+ nights in this bad boy and it still runs as flawless as can be. Only thing I have had to do to it is patch some holes that showed up on the bottom on a couple trips where I forgot my foot print and setup location was less than ideal. (Hunting trips in the mountains in BC) probably my favourite thing about this tent, is as the name says, storm break is its ability to stand strong in the wind. I have had this bad boy set up in some less than ideal locations, in less than ideal conditions and when all the lines are out, and the wind is howling, the tent barely wiggles. I've been beside some hunting partners and heard their tent collapse and the wind just sailed on over the north face storm break. Zippers still work as good as the day I purchased it, fly is still nice and water tight. However I will say, when you have the fly sinched down and are spending lots of hours in the tent it does condensate inside the fly, wich is normal for every tent I have ever used, but if you're able to open up the vestibule doors for a couple hours during the day the screen on the tent itself lets a lot of air through to dry it all up before bed again. 10/10 love this tent.

Plenty of space and stayed dry

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kept us dry during a severe thunderstorm, didn't have to worry about water getting in, plenty of space between the tent and the rain cover to store things while sleeping but they still were protected

I love this tent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this tent. So easy to setup; under 10 mins. The two person is perfect for me as a solo camper. Nice and roomy on the inside. I used it last summer at Mesa Verde. One of the days I was there wait was really windy. I think we had gusts up to 40-50 mph and all day. Other tents did not fair very well; my tent didn't budge at all. It also rained all day on my last day and through the night. The tent stayed nice and dry. The footprint did its job because that was the only dry spot was under the tent.

I would but this again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a bit big and a bit tall so this two person gets used as a comfy one person. Tons of ventilation, easy to set up, easy to pack in and out. I like it.

Amazing Backpacking Tent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good Job North Face, you knocked it out of the park with the StormBreak series tents. I purchased this tent after seeing a friend with it on a recent camping trip and decided to purchase my own since it was on sale. This tent may not be the lightest but it is extremely robust, easy to set up, and affordable. I especially like how roomy the inside is with ample headroom to sit up and stretch after a good nights sleep. The interior gear loops and pockets also make a great place to store gear and hang a light or two for night time visibility. The dual doors are a nice touch so you don't disturb your camping partner if they are sleeping. I would absolutely trust this tent in heavy rain/wind as it has plenty of guy lines and stake points to anchor it securely to the ground. Don't forget to protect your investment by purchasing the footprint as well.

Great !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this weekend I went out and camped in Joshua tree not knowing that there was going to be high winds the entire weekend and that tent stayed up and literally 20 mph winds I put extra steaks into the ground to keep it stable, but that tent did not budge and along with a sleeping med that kept me warm all night that tent was well stuck in the ground great tent great quality would recommend

Stormbreak 2 is the best tent for the money, period.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its a very well thought out design with lots of great features. I love everything about this tent except the weight. There is a bit of a learning curve with getting this tent setup and dialed in. To make the best use of the ventilation and/or prepare the tent for stronger winds, you're going to need more stakes than what is included. You will also need to purchase the ground sheet separately or provide your own. The poles that come with this tent are good but not indestructible. I've never had any problems, ever, but I have read some horror stories. My best advice regarding the poles is not to rush things and to follow the instructions for setting up the tent. If you do that, the poles should outlast the fabric. Don't overtighten anything, snug is all you need. Use some common sense and this tent should last a decade no matter how often you use it.

While looking for an upgrade from my Bass Pro Shop Eclipse 4 person tent I stumbled across this tent. The Stormbreaker 2 tent was everything advertised. Not knowing that We would get hit with a storm while on our weekend trip to Parvin state park. The Storm breaker 2 was put up against winds of 17 mph with gusts as high as 26 , heavy rain and snow all in the same night. It held up great and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.
