    Take anywhere.

When you jump out of the car after work and kit up for a ride, you just want to throw everything on and go bask in golden hour bliss out on the roads. If functionality is what earns kit the most coveted spot in your closet, Shimano’s flagship SH-RP9 Cycling Shoe deserves your attention. Shimano shoes deliver the same longevity and durability as its commendable drivetrains, affording you the luxury of assuming they’re just going to do what they’re supposed to, each time.

Shimano graces the SH-RP9 with one of its stiffest carbon composite soles, engineered to provide a limited amount of flex for comfort while maintaining responsive power transfer. Race with it or use it in your training rides and the occasional fondo and it will adapt with signature Shimano versatility. As you turn the pedals, you'll also have the added support of a heat-moldable EVA foam insole helping your feet work more efficiently in the saddle. Choose between two different arch shapes depending on which works best for your foot and the molded heel cup will work with it to give your foot a cushy, secure platform to spin the pedals from. Along the top of your foot, synthetic leather and mesh venting add breathability and provide a slim, streamlined fit with the help of a ratcheting buckle and two easily adjustable hook-and-loop straps.

    Great fit & Great price!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5 US
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 175lbs

Ordered size 10.5 to insure shoes did not cramp toes and these are just right! They are a slim profile but are perfect for my D width foot! After trying these on I turned right around and ordered a pair in white before they are all gone!

Really solid shoes at a great price

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 45
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 180lbs

After years of nothing but Sidi shoes, I've tried a few different brands in recent years because of discomfort in my left foot. Shoes I tried from Giro and Bont were all right but not exactly what I was trying to find. Despite having a lengthy and probably irrational aversion to Shimano products, the reviews convinced me to give these a shot. I got a great deal on them from one of CC's sister sites. I ordered a size 45, concerned the might be too snug but they were slightly larger than a Sidi in 45. They do have an understated but unique appearance. On my first few rides they were overall very comfortable but the top of the tongue near the ankle took some time to wear in. They don't feel like hardcore race shoes but I'm not racing and comfort is more important than being wedged into a shoe with an uncompromisingly stiff sole. They start out great and still feel that way after four hours. We frequently get 100F degree days here and the ventilation is more than adequate. The retention system works well with the "reverse" ratchet allowing for easy adjustment and release. They may not be the hottest shoe on the market but they're just what I need at this point in my cycling life.

    Great Shimano shoes

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 41.5
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I just got these delivered and rode 30 miles of the new shoes. I had a great first ride with these new Shimano's. And they feel great. Size is true, comfort is great. Shoes fits snug to your feet without even tightening the straps down. They look and feel great. Great buy.

    Lots of space

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 46
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 180lbs

Purchased to replace Pearl Izumi Pro Leader II that I could never get dialed in. As the title sez these shoes have plenty of space in the front which I need because my left foot big toe is crooked from I guess life..who knows.
Quality is first rate, styling is a bit lacking for my tastes but it's a cycling shoe.
I've put 600 plus miles on them and after initial break in they feel fantastic. My foot stays in place with no movement during rides which eliminates hot spots on the bottom of my feet.
I did not heat shrink these due to no place to get it done locally.
It gets hot (90+ deg, humidity 90+) and the air flow is excellent.
I ride these with Speedplay pedals.
    I recommend theses shoes.

    Shimano RP9 shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 46.5
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 158lbs

Needed to replace my Gaernes that had worn far too quickly and which Chain Reaction Cycles didn't want to deal with. I've worn Time, Mavic, Giro as well; first occasion for Shimano. Mike Nelson worked with me on the choice of manufacturer [I was looking at the Garneaus, too], the model [RP9 over 321] and the size. I've never ever worn 46.5 rather than 45.5 or 46 but he made just the right call. I don't race and only put in about 200, 230 miles a week but these are certainly the cat's meow; not exceptionally light but definitely stiff in the sole and the overall fit is just fine [high arches, one foot funny across the instep]. I'll buy Shimano again unless I'm foolish enough to go for the Assos [afford it or not I wear their stuff almost exclusively; that tells you something of my expectations]. And, of course, I'll be back to CC; it's not just variety and breadth of product lines but the customer service aspect.

    Great shoes

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

I've had these for about 6 months. Great shoes. I never remember that it's there. Definitely roomier than my older Sidi 5 and took 2 short rides to break in. Soles are stiffer compared to the Sidi 5 as well. I wear a size 9.5 sneakers and a 43 with these.
