First Impressions
- Familiarity:

I got the jacket for a great price and feel like I totally scored. Super impressed with the build and quality of this jacket. Great attention to detail. It's not the lightest jacket, but if it performs like it looks/feels it's going to be my go to tech shell for lift access excursions for a long time. Still to soon to know how AdvanceSkinDry will hold-up, but two outings in torrential rain and no complaints yet. I'm 6'0 178 lbs with athletic build and long arms and I bought a large. For comparison, I traditionally wear a medium in Patagonia outerwear. I've read other reviews that say the jacket is too tight underarms, but I've found most tech shells going this way...Patagonia for sure. The Large feels close but comfortable and doesn't feel massive or blousy in the torso like when you bump-up sizes in other brands. The only questionable aspect of the jacket are the sleeve/hand gaskets. I think they're nice in concept, but I wonder how they'll hold up. I can imagine eventually wanting to get rid of them and they limit the jackets use in really wet conditions...if they get wet, then you've got saturated fabric riding up your wrists and into your sleeves.

This item just arrived so I have not field tested. Material, construction and fit are spot on. Can't wait to use it next winter. I am 6' and 170 and the M is good w/ light down under it.
