Pro Traxion Pulley
The Petzl Pro Traxion Pulley easily hauls large bags up big walls with ease so you aren't pumped out for the next pitch. This pulley allows you to install a rope to it while being connected to an anchor in order to eliminate the possibility of dropping it when you're setting it up. Petzl mounted the large-diameter sheave on the sealed ball bearings to provide excellent efficiency, and the lower connection point creates different types of hauling systems so you can get your gear in the best way possible. Side plate locks prevent the pulley from opening while you use it, and the toothed cam has a self-cleaning slot that ensures excellent performance regardless of the conditions of the weather and the rope.

I took this up a four day climb hauling around 400 lbs and it was the perfect addition for my 2:1 system

Take a load off!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I got this bad boy for learning how to haul for my future bigwall endeavors and MAN this thing does work. The only thing is, know what you're doing before you use it because you could drop some heavy stuff or mess up your rope with this if you don't know. The good thing is, it's easy as heck to use, and makes pulling up tons of weight a lot easier. I like how big it is while I'm hauling with it, but I do wish it was smaller when I am carrying it. Be sure to use a pear or oval locker with it, too. There are some biners that don't fit well with the size of this thing.

The Cadillac of Hauling Devices
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've used the Pro Traxion extensively while working as a professional route setter and can say with confidence that it will handle any loads you send its way. The large sheave provides excellent mechanical advantage and a smooth action, making this a great choice for hauling heavier bags. The device itself is totally solid and exudes the quality you'd expect from Petzl gear. It's definitely heavy compared to its counterparts, unless I'm planning on hauling huge bags for days I'd probably stick with the Micro. This is perfect for any extreme hauling situation and handles 50+ lbs without flinching. I've hauled multiple large volumes and features with zero slippage. Easily my go-to for professional applications or big-wall expedition climbing where weight isn't as much of a concern.

Burley device

The Pro Traction is a very high quality and a trustworthy locking pulley. I've only used it for hauling heavy evaporative coolers up on roofs here in the valley. But I feel very confident with a few hundred pounds of steel above me on a ladder with the Pro Traction locking it off. My buddies say the Mini Traction could substitute for this instead but why take the chance!
