Quest Bib Short
Whether a destination near or far tugs at your heartstrings on a sunny weekend morning, trust the Pearl Izumi Quest Bib Short to accompany you through rich countryside on two wheels. Redesigned this year, this accessible bib short comes with all of the features you need to stay comfortable in the saddle in a simple, no-frills design. Fortunately, that no-frills design keeps the Quest's price accessible too, so if you're saving up for a new ride, it won't set you back much. New for this year, Pearl revisited its entire chamois line, from entry level to top-end kit, so the Quest's SELECT Escape 1:1 Chamois comes crafted with a new blended thickness foam, which eliminates harsh ridges and seaming in favor of a smooth, plush interface. Between its stretchy, accommodating chamois and supportive, breathable fabric, the Quest will serve you loyally as you explore rolling hills and thrilling descents.

Good basic bibs
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:
- True to size
The QUEST Bib Short is the entry-level bib in Pearl Izumi's collection. I find that it is perfectly comfortable (for me) for up to about 30 miles. Anything more than that, and I start to get "antsy" in the saddle. The materials feel nice, and the quality is typical of Pearl Izumi gear. The leg grippers are minimal and they do ride up on me a little bit, but not terrible. These have the shortest inseam length of any bib in the current Pearl Izumi lineup, at 9.5" (for size Medium). Overall a pretty decent bib short at full MSRP, but if you can catch it on sale then it's hard to say no. Sure, the higher-end bibs in Pearl's lineup _are_ nicer... but the next step up is also more than 2x the price of this bib.

Your Average Bib

Looks good and fits okay. There is way too much movement in the male precisous area. It has a thin chamois, therefore, this bib does not do well for rides longer than 25 miles. I would not buy it again.

Decent... moves around, thin chamois
Bib is comfortable and appropriately priced, but the grippers donât do a great job of keeping the legs in place and the chamois is really just dual density foam. You definitely feel the saddle after 20 miles and I have to stop to reposition it fairly regularly as it rides up. Totally fine as an intro bib for social rides or quicker hill burn training, but Iâll stick to my higher-end chamois and grippers for 25+ miles.

These bibs fit true to size, and are a good value for the price. The chamois isn't very technical, and there are definitely better ones on the market...but at this price point I am satisfied. Ordered two pairs.

Great fit - but needs a better chamois!

Of the 3-4 domestic brand bibs I own, these fit the best and the most comfortable. My complaint is the 'inexpensive' cycling pad (its foam - so its not a chamois). Essentially, 2 layers of thin foam - not satisfactory. I replaced the cycling pad with a good one, and these are now excellent!

These were picked up for my cyclist husband. Here's what he had to say, "Got these to replace another pair that had seen their day. The chamois is not top of the line, but it does the trick for 40-50 mile rides. I would order again. "

I have worn these a few times. They work well for shorter rides. The chamois is to thin for rides longer than 3 hours.

First pair of bib shorts. Love em. Rode 20 miles before work yesterday, the bib kept the chamois in place. I'm 5'10'', 170, broad shoulders with skinny-ish legs and the medium fit spot on. Ordering another pair now. Will try to add to the review after a longer ride.
