Look nice, but strange fit.

If you wear these like the model in the photo, the pants definitely look nice. And the materials and construction are good. However the pants have a strange fit. Finally got a chance to use these, and the problems were apparent before rolling out of the driveway. The whole pelvis area is really deep - like large top to bottom. So when you wear them like the model in the photo you’ll have a very loose fit in the crotch. Not a big deal if you’re just lounging around. But if you try to do something active like, oh I don’t know – ride a bike? It becomes problematic for two reasons: #1 - Although the crotch is really loose, the manufacturer made the fit across the hips snug. So when you try to do something active with your legs, like ride a bike, they bind. #2 - Yes I did try pulling them up. All the way to my rib cage. This worked for literally about two minutes, because there’s nothing to keep them there. They do have the adjustable waist band that you see on just about every pair of mountain bike pants and shorts made now, but at rib cage level there’s not really much for it to hang onto. And pearl Izumi didn’t include the silicone gripper dots that would grab onto your under clothes. So they slide right back down to your waist and continue to bind while you pedal. Also, all that extra material in the crotch? Yeah that gets hung up on the nose of your saddle every time you dismount or stand up to pedal.
