Patagouch items run the gammot for me for being skin tight, too long or way too big. I never know what size to order. It is always a guess for me whether to order the L or Xl. I chose correctly this time with the Large and I LOVE this shirt. Not too baggy and not too tight, super stretchy material and a wonderful light feeling on the arms. I have been wearing it under short sleeve button ups. My true intent for buying it is to use it solo under a PFD for raft season this summer. From the initial few times wearing it, I am going to buy another one with the hood.

This shirt works for me. I’m a woman and the women’s version was weirdly too long and too big yet too tight. The men’s version is just better in that slightly oversized way - gives me more ventilation, falls so that I don’t lose my waist, but also fits my hips rather than covering them. While it doesn’t keep me as cool as another sun shirt I have, it’s easy to throw in with the rest of my gear and meets my needs for hiking, fishing, biking, the beach, etc. while keeping the sun off my skin. It does get warmer in this shirt if there’s no breeze, but it’s not stiflingly hot. I’ll be keeping this one handy for most of my adventures!

I got this shirt as a fall / spring MTB jersey, works great! NOT plastered with logos NOT hugely expensive Usually good up to 70º in the shade of fully canopied trails, very good wicking product. I ride in the NE USA Size "down" for a more athletic fit. My chest measurements put me in a large, but a medium is a good fit for athletics

These shirts from Patagonia are my absolute favorite shirt I own. I've worn them hiking, climbing, even snowboarding! Given, that was a warm snowboarding day, and I had a solid mid-layer on too. However, this shirt is one of the coolest (pun intended) that I've ever owned. Very breathable and moister wicking, reflects the sun off, and it just looks cool when wearing it. I've caught myself doing my laundry more often just to wear this shirt! It does run a little bit large.

Keeps You Cool

I knew this shirt was good when I went backpacking with a friend in it. I wore this shirt, and my friend wore a normal cotton shirt. Though both of us had plenty of water, he was getting beaten down by the sun and had to go sit in the shade while showing early signs of heat stroke, while I felt fresh as a spring chicken. Every tiny breeze goes through this shirt and cools you down, and it blocks the rays of the sun like the walls of a cave. He immediately requested to know which shirt I was wearing and went and bought one himself. 10/10 would buy again.

This shirt does a great job of keeping the UV off the arms. Super lightweight and dries quickly in the unfortunate event that you take a dip while wading. I am 6 foot even 170 lbs and bought a large. It fits loosely but feels great! A must have river essential.

Tropics Staple

Love these lower profile (no big fish print on the back) sun shirts that you can wear on the flats in the Tropics or under another shirt on a cooler evening. The shirt is well cut with good finished seams, a printed label instead of a fabric label, and thumbholes that make sure that space between your wrist and your arm is always covered especially when casting. The thumbholes keep the sleeve from creeping up.

Patagonia Tropic Comfort Crew

I bought this for my dad as a gift, specifically because it is UPF rated. The fabric is lightweight so you can still wear it in the summer, and feel good that you are protecting your skin from the sun when you are outside.

I bought this shirt in Railroad Blue about a month ago and it's already my go-to for long hot days on the river: the sleeves help to protect my skin from the sun, and the material keeps me cool and dry. This shirt also has great functionality, as the thumb-holes can lengthen the sleeves during a cooler morning or evening, and the elastic cuff can keep them rolled up when you want to feel the breeze. Not to mention, it looks great. I'll definitely be adding more colors to my wardrobe soon!

Cool Breeze on a hot day

Excellent quality. Strong stitching and fits as advertised. Impressed with the fabrics ability to wick moisture and resist odor. Strongly recommend for the hot humid days.

There is nothing more to say about this shirt other than it rocks, I wear this thing in the dead of summer to keep the sun off when rowing rapids or even as a lightweight base layer under my puffy during ski season. The elastic wrist cuffs and thumb loops are perfect and add some great functionality to the shirt when you need more sun protection on the hands or need the sleeves to stay out of the way when getting your hands dirty. Runs large like everything in the Technical Fishing line, Size down and you should be very happy. This is just my opinion, but there is really no better synthetic all-around baselayer out there.

I wear these for everything i do while I'm in the sun! They are even comfortable when it is really hot outside (95+). Sleeves do run a little long, I wear a large in Patagonia Shirts and a medium in these for sleeve length.

Fit just right

Fit:

Bought this for a week long river trip, where I didn't want to bath in sunscreen all day. I never took it off, it stays cool in 98 degree weather, and keeps you even cooler when it's wet. The sleeve has thumb loops too which extended the sun protection all the way down the back of my hands

Sleeves too long

Nice fabric but the sleeves are way too long. They extended 2" past the tips of my fingers. I own a bunch of patagonia long sleeve shirts (R1, Capilene, Sun Hoody) in Large and they fit perfectly. This shirt was the exception. Not sure if by design (for sun protection) or mis-labelled. I will be returning the shirt.
