    Neck Zipper

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: xl
    • Height: 6'3"
    • Weight: 200lbs

This jacket is warm, the color is great, but once you zip all the way up the stiff zipper jabs into your neck under your chin. Very uncomfortable, it's also too tight in the neck as well. I wanted to love this jacket as it's super warm and light weight, but the neck zipper is just horrible and uncomfortable. Fix the neck and this jacket would be perfect. As is it's unwearable, I had to return it.

    Super Warm & Light

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 163lbs

I wore this jacket for the first time on Mt. Baker. It is super warm and weighs nothing. I consistently needed less layers than my teammates and the interior pockets are perfect for gloves, snacks, etc. Only one complaint... the zipper seems to have a tendency to stick a little.

    Great Puffy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 175lbs

Im super stoked about this jacket! It is great for keeping you warm sitting around the campfire and as a mid layer for winter layering. I love the hood and zipper that zips up just under my nose for those super bitter cold days.

    Micro puff

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 190lbs

This is a good jacket but don’t kid yourself, it’s not as warm as a down jacket. Good for active events.

    Puff Jackets for life!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 170lbs

The Micro Puff Hooded Jacket is fantastic. I have used Nano Puffs for years and really love the lightweight functionality of the Micro Puff. It is very lightweight and small while still providing plenty of warmth. It is a great mid layer when its really cold and functions very well on it own.

    super light weight and warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

defiantly one of the lightest jackets I have ever used. Stitching on the outside is a little different so if you want something a little more regular go with the nano puff.

    Great warmth to weight piece

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 140lbs

Really like this jacket, it is just as warm as my nano puff, with a lot less weight. My only slight concern is durability, it is definitely a piece to be mindful of what is contacting it, or to have a shell over. Keep your ice tools and screws away from this one and all will be good. It makes a great mid layer in my opinion and is lighter than a Nano Air, but not as breathable.

Fit was great! So warm! So stylish!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

This jacket is incredible!! Very warm for those chilly temps!! But also very stylish and pairs well with any outfit! Would recommend to anyone!

    Great jacket!

    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 140lbs

With being 5'11" the women's version of this jacket doesn't fit me! So I went with the men's version because it fits my long arms, broad shoulders, and athletic build MUCH better. Still a bit boxy, but surprisingly less so on me than the women's version.

    Solid Temp Regulation

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: L
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 170lbs

This is a great layer piece or wear alone for spring and fall. Very lightweight to the point that you barely notice wearing it. The overall fit is very in line with Patagonia sizing, which was unfortunate for me. Due to my measurements, I sit perfectly between a M and L in Patagonia. I can never find the right fit for what I desire, but I went with the Large and it fit loosely.

    Good for layering

    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 130lbs

I wear this under a shell to go skiing, it is really warm and I like the style of it. Great everyday jacket as well. Runs true to size. I wore a men's medium since I like my jackets to fit a little bigger than my regular size

    Light Warm Midlayer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 155lbs

Shockingly warm, super light, and very thin for a midlayer jacket. The poly-fill jacket is nice because there are no major animal products used in this jacket like many down or wool based pieces which are often more expensive than this jacket.

The stretchy hem lines, light stitching through the body and a fitted but still loose true to size american style fit makes this jacket feel like your favorite comfortable hoodie. This is an excellent multipurpose midlayer jacket for someone looking to do everything from a backpacking trip, to climbing, or skiing/snowboarding, to hanging out with a crew at the local watering hole.

    Very Warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 165lbs

This jacket is much warmer than it seems, and it's lightweight and packable. The fit was nice, a little relaxed so if you're between sizes and want to layer then I'd size down. My only gripe was the lack of stretch in the material, but the fit was relaxed enough that I didn't have too much of an issue.

    I dig it!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 145lbs

This jacket fits true to size. I'm 6'0 145lbs and the M fits me perfect.

It's extremely light and packs down into it's front pocket! All you need to do is flip the front pocket inside out and stuff the jacket into it! And it even has a loop for you to hang it somewhere!

This jacket on it's own kept me warm with a t-shirt underneath in low 30s with wind blowing!

Perfect for backpacking trips or when belaying on colder days. It does a great job of keeping the wind out and still keeps me warm despite getting drenched in a rain storm!

My only worry is it getting snagged on a branch and ripping, but so far it has not done that!

    Great but beware size

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 215lbs

Great jacket, fits great all around and looks good on top of being light, practical and super warm. However, when fully zipped the jacket comes up super tight on my neck and wants to go over my chin making it look odd and the hood super tight around my head. I am 6'2 215 with an athletic build so its tough in general to find stuff that fits right since I am between the L and XL size for most brands. I will send the L back and see if the XL fits better hopefully it isn't too big in all of the places that the L actually fit me.

    One of Patagonia's best jackets!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 235lbs

When I first picked this jacket up I was amazed with how light it was. This is a perfect jacket for ski touring and climbing. The PlumaFill insulation is revolutionary. Great all around jacket!

    Jacket of the future

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 240lbs

What is it about this jacket that makes it so awesome? Why is it so popular? Should I spend so much on a piece of clothing?
These were questions I had before I bought the Micro puff. All joking aside, it is so light and warm I love it! I can wear it outside in the freezing temps and inside in a warm house without issue!

The fit is weird around the shoulders

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I was not a fan of the awkward fit of this jacket. I returned it and got the micro puff vest which I am very pleased with. The vest is a super light extra layer that I don’t mind adding the extra weight to my pack. This would have been a great jacket except the fit wasn’t for me.

    Big Warmth - Micro Puff

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 135lbs

The first time I picked up this jacket I was very skeptical about how warm it would be because of just how light it is, but my mind was completely changed once I put it on.

This jacket really shines on its own in the 35-50F range, but it also thrives as a layering piece on colder days. I love how easily it packs into its pocket and can be stashed in an already full pack, and it has no problem regaining its full size once you pull it out. I used this jacket daily driving to work, and it was my go-to piece for those moments when you go from working hard and sweating on the skin-track to freezing on top of a windy ridge moments later. I would throw this jacket on and feel my core warmth coming back within moments.

After substantial use, only a few small threads of insulation started to show themselves through the shell, but unlike down where once a feather starts coming out it does not stop the PlumaFill does not pull out easily. The ripstop fabric seems to be quite durable and deferred many snags on pokey objects, but it is not indestructible. As with any insulated jacket, be mindful of sticks, ice axes, and any other sharp objects when you wear this jacket. The zipper is not the burliest, but I did not have a single problem with it and I would not expect any as long as you treat it kindly.

I really am astonished at the warmth-to-weight ratio of this jacket. Patagonia has made another superb product! This is a great jacket for anyone looking for lightweight-warmth and is a great addition to the Nano Puff and the rest of Patagonia's line-up of insulated apparel. Give me a shout or email me with your questions on which jacket is best for you!

at what tempurature will this jacket keep you warm

Although most jackets don't have a temperature rating I have used this jacket on cold fall days and been fine.

Temperatures were between 20-70 at day and night and this jacket handled great!

I would say that 20 degrees is an extreme temperature but 30-40 is the lowest I would go comfortably!

Just layer and it will keep you warm in winter!
