Good quality
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Great hat but for the first time ever the extra large was a bit to big. It as it least a 73/4 and up fit. The snap system.... I can?t abide.... can?t get the hang of it but I?ll keep trying.

Warm, like really warm.
Bought a medium (smallest diameter is 7 1/4) and I wear a 7 ballcap. Fits slightly big on me as expected to I would say that it is true to size. I thought this would be an excellent hat for the skin track when ski touring however... This thing is uber warm and doesn't really breath. Like WAY warmer than I expected. That being said I love the hat for cold winter days where I am not overly exerting myself. I am only giving it 4* because I think there could be some improvements in the breathability of the hat but other than that if you want a warm hat for those cold winter days this thing is awesome!

Little too stiff for me
I purchased this hat for myself, but it is much stiffer than I was expecting (I like soft materials around my face and head). Luckily, my 8-year old son likes it, so it is getting a good use.

I would buy it again
Light weight, looks good, true to size, seems warm. Wish the bill was foldable, so it would be easy to carry in a jacket pocket. The snap attachment seems to be weak, not sure how long it will last.

Fun hat, love the style and versatility.
Super fun hat. It is good on a cool sunny day like we had a few days ago or a chilly windy day like yesterday. It does run big but then again enough space for a cashmere beanie or ear band under the hat for when it is really cold.

Very difficult to snap

Will not be returning the cap as I don't want to deal with the hassle but it is vastly inferior to a similar Carhardtt cap I have. Major problem is that the snaps are nearly impossible to snap due to the very small size of the interior snapping mechanism and the high loft of the pile. When on my head, I can't snap them in the warmth of my house. Don't see how one could snap them outside in our very cold Alaska winter. I will be replacing these snaps with larger ones or Velcro. Don't recommend this cap in any truly cold climate. I haven't used the cap yet due to the issue I have noted.

Has trade offs
Bought on clearance at a great price. Got a Medium which fits me more like a large and is a little too big unless I tuck my hair up inside the hat. I also bought a medium in the regular "Whitefish hat" and the other hat is more true to size. But this Wilson hat is better made (even though it's made in China). I only wish the chin straps had velcro instead of snaps.

Got two now!
Great hat, replaced last years version which I returned due to the snaps breaking off. Super in the cold and bad weather.

Nice hat. Not for me though.
Quality workmanship. Sharp appearance. Not quite the fit I was looking for. I have a beard, and the straps look ridiculous when they are snapped under my chin. Wish I would have ordered the Yukon. YMMV.

Poor quality
I wanted a brimmed warm hat to use so my rain parka hood wouldn't fall over my eyes. I wear a 7 3/8 and the hat was considerably bigger than that. The main issue is that the quilted lining is not stitched in, so you're able to see that lining bulge out of the hat below the brim (resting on your forehead). Looks terrible and it doesn't help the fit.
