Gloves are great until we need the dexterity of bare fingers. These simple but effective mittens keep us warm whether we're at work or play, and save us the time of having to repeatedly take our gloves on and off when we're using phones, unzipping packs, or performing other tasks.

Versatile and warm for skiing and fishing
I've used these for skiing and fly fishing. The magnetized flaps are very handy for holding the flaps open. Naturally a convertible mitten will not be as warm as other options below those temperatures. But these are great for the 30-45F temperature range when extra dexterity is needed for fishing or cell phone. I got a size large and the fit was as I expected.

Highly functional cold weather gloves
I'm in Texas, but bought these in preparation for the late winter freeze we've been getting around January-February. Having used them, I can say they kept my hands comfortably warm in temps around 20-30 degrees (F), but they really shine when you layer them with a liner - put on a basic fleece glove that covers the fingers, flip these into mitten mode over the top, and they'll easily keep your hands toasty warm in much colder temps. Probably my favorite feature is the convertibility though: sometimes you just need bare fingers to perform certain tasks, and being able to easily flip the top back allows you to use your fingers without having to remove the gloves. Also, unlike other gloves, these have a rubbery texturing on the palms that greatly helps maintain dexterity, which is a nice bonus. As an additional note, I would say the build quality on these is quite sturdy, and I expect them to hold up for years, but people who do heavy duty outdoors or construction work might want to get a specialized work glove.

Great convertible gloves
These have been great gloves so far. I think they do run a little small, which fits my hands perfectly. The magnetic holds are nice. The tip of the mitten and thumb pad are touch screen compatible, which was a nice surprise I wasn't expecting. The thumb flaps can be a little finicky but overall they work! Was hoping these would be a bit more waterproof, but they've kept my hands warm and I like them.

Run a little small, otherwise comfortable
These run a little small, but they're comfortable. Would recommend trying them on if possible - fortunately the ones I got are just the right size, as a size up would have been just a bit too big. Wore them in some snowy, windy, cold weather recently and my fingers got chilly, but no more than they would have in regular gloves and these allowed me a little more dexterity when I needed it compared to regular gloves (or mittens). As another reviewer mentioned sometimes the thumb cover comes open but that may change over time as they relax. The grip on the palm and fingers is helpful and the length is good for covering the wrist.

So far excellent product!
Used it about 1/2 dozen times and they keep my hands warm while giving me access to my finger tips. Really like the function and warmth of these gloves.

Perfect in form, function, and fit.
These convertible mitts are awesome. Because I need to get in and out of my pockets all the time, or hook up the dog leash, and also because I ride a bike in the winter, the convertible aspect of these gloves means I don't have to remove the gloves every time I need to use my fingers. I've had several pairs of different brands of these over the years. While the MSR convertible mits are a little bit more expensive, they are far superior and design, workmanship, and fit.

Great gloves
I wear these in high elevation rain forests in Hawaii where I do environmental conservation work. They are great in the wet cold weather and protect my hands. I've bought at least four of these over the years and keep getting them each time I loose one. That's usually my only problem with them-is that they seem to disappear on me!
