Surprised

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have a few Osprey Packs and really like all of them. I was shocked that this one actually fit all of my needs while being comfortable to carry. The 36L was surprisingly large enough for me to camp with it for one overnight. I was able to pack all my gear, I didn't take any food which helped with space and didn't need any cooking gear either. The pack is light, and I really used all the pockets and straps. Highly recommend this pack for anyone doing long-distance day hikes, quick overnights, or travel.

European Travel Approved

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This was my pack of choice for a two week Europe trip this summer. I was following the Tour de France for a few days before heading to the Alps so my packing list had a little of everything. If you plan things out and pack conservatively the 36L volume is more than enough room for everything you need. The well placed pockets make it easy to get to everything you need quickly and easily. The top lid zipper is located close to your head vs the outside of the pack which gave me a little peace of mind knowing opportunists wouldn't be able to get into it while crammed into the crowded train stations. The suspension system was super comfortable making the long travel days far more bearable. The bottom sleeping bag compartment served as a storage area for cycling shoes and kit while the main compartment is where I kept my everyday clothing and essentials. Overall very pleased with how it worked out and would definitely use it again.

Incredibly comfortable

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've taken this pack on a few quick overnight backpacking trips. Granted I pack pretty light, but this thing offers plenty of space for my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, cookware, fly rod, and other essentials. It's breathable back panel and incredible suspension system make you forget its even there half the time.

Perfect if you have to pick ONE

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have a closet full of packs in differing sizes and intended uses. Of all the packs, this is the one I use the most. At 36 Liters, this pack can take on the most demanding day hikes in any season. There is room for all the layers you'll need, convenient hip belt pockets for quick access, hydration sleeve for a reservoir, and plenty of external lashing points for trecking poles, snow shoes, etc. I have used this pack for 5 years and put it through EVERYTHING. I'd be willing to buy another one whenever it finally goes, but with the Osprey Almighty Guarantee, I won't have to- they replace whatever they can't fix! Male 6'3" 205 lbs Size M/L Pack

Great Overnight pack

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I tried this pack for an overnight hike to a peak. I loved this pack because the frame fit my torso better then others have in the past. Fit is key. This pack is the perfect size for overnight light weight camping. The frame on this pack help distribute the weight well and I was surprised on how much I could stuff in this pack. This pack is a great option for both men and women.
