Wouldn’t buy a second one
Cons: Heavy, glides like a raft, steers like raft, collects water around cockpit opening, no drain plug at the top ends, rod holders at fixed angle ( pointing to stern ) so hard on one’s neck. Pros: Very stable. Looks durable.

I LOVE MY TWIN HERON
I was back and forth for months on either a kayak or a canoe. I wanted the weight of the kayak, and the safety and space of the canoe. The twin heron is kinda like a hybrid, leaning on the kayak side. I read the reviews on the boat, and they were not accurate... At all!!! First, it's light enough to carry on my own. Huge bonus. I love how the front seat can be removed ( very easily) so that you can paddle solo, and load up with gear. It tracks beautifully. I'm 6' 210 pounds and had no issues. With those having issues, I assure you it isn't the boat!! Take a paddling course. I paddled for 20 years and It wasn't until I took a course did I realize I was doing it wrong... I guarantee it's user error... my daughter can paddle this boat staraight on her own from the bow... She's 8.. I've had adults, kids and dogs in the boat and couldn't be happy with how it handles. I even had her in 2 foot swells on open water. "I don't suggest this for beginners" but aslong as I kept her on a 45° while going over the waves, she was very best.. You can't tip this thing. It's the most sturdy kayak/canoe I've paddled. Dogs or kids can walk up and down the haul. If stability is a must, the Twin heron is your answer. I am a wildlife photographer, so stability is everything. If I upset the boat, it could be a disaster is lost gear. I just had it out yesterday on a choppy lake fishing. I paddled a total of 10 km's, and it was a pleasure. I love how low to the water it sits. Makes fishing more entertaining, aswell as making it easy to get back in after you go in for a swim in open water. I seen reviews of people rateing it low for lack of dry storage... Really??? If you look at it from a canoe standpoint, the covered bow and stern is AMAZING!!. You can very simply add dry storage. I have a waterproof tote on the back bunjied, aswell as a dry bag packed in the stern. Over all I have absolutely nothing to complain about. Old town you rocked this thing.

Easy to manage solo
The large cockpit easily accommodates me (6'3"/240lb) and my two boys (5&6 yo). Adding ballast to the bow (20-30 pounds) is recommended to keep the bow well planted in chop. I have had no problems handling the boat without help. I've had novice paddlers running solo and tandem with no issues . It has been stored outside inverted for the past 2.5 years with no color fade. Only complaint is the flimsy foot peddle adjustments. One broke fairly early in my ownership of the boat.
