Great for all around skier! Norrona have a great color sections for skiing and I choose blue! I ripped off a small piece on left lower leg from tree skiing, I had it sent to the local seamstress and asked for a repair plus added edge guard. Only charged me about 20$. Most of the softshell like this doesn't have edge guard so it is good idea to ask your local seamstress to add some if you're going to ski like me! I think this may use a good pant for spring/fall hiking when it get rainy in the northwest! The only cons there is that leg cuff barely fit over the ski boots so they could make it wider next time! There is a picture that Sarah already posted here of my base flash with the pant! (Thanks Sarah!)

Great waterproof shell pants
So, I'm 5'11" and weigh about 210 currently. Slightly over 36 inch waist. I ordered Large and they fit great in length and slightly snug in the waist. Got XL and they fit great in the waist and slightly long in length. Overall, I'd still wear the XL over the Large. I wore them on a morning cool weather hike when it was in the mid-50's and had my Patagucci merinoair baselayers on. Too warm. Should not have had any baselayer on underneath. I had to open the 3/4 zip vents and start dumping excess heat almost from the get go. I use the left zipped thigh pocket for my PLB. The design of having a 3/4 zip instead of a full length zip is ingenious. I love these more than my MHW Quasar shell pants due to the pockets and venting zip design. Since I am not a "hardcore" mountaineer, these will be perfect for trekking and the occasional times when I need to wear boots and crampons. For the money they are certainly worth it due to well thought out designs.

Great Pant- Wish they would have worked.
I ordered a size small but these were too long for my short inseam (~30 in). Its been a problem my whole life so I wasn't surprised when I got these and they were too long for me... I wanted a pant for wind/water/snow protection when hiking so length is a priority for me. I could have made these work if I was using them for skiing since ski boots hold them up a bit more. The size small probably has a max waist size of 31in. When I tried them on, they were perfectly snug and I couldn't make them go any larger. I'm usually a 30-32 waist size depending on the time of year. If it wasn't for size, this 3L GoreTex pant from Norrona would have been the best all around pant for all 4 seasons. I told myself at first that 3/4 to full length zips were a bad idea but it really makes the pant so much more versatile allowing the user to be able to dump heat quickly when their heart rate picks up. The ankle gaiters and reinforced inside leg were other criteria I wanted and they looked like they could withstand any adventures. Now if they just made them in small, reg, and tall versions like Arcteryx....

Truly great pants!
Great fit. Very often pants are too long for me these are slightly too long, but when they're clipped at the bottom to my boot laces the little bit of extra length is nice when stepping high over stuff. First Norrona product I ever purchased and love them - so far used for snowshoeing. Also, recently purchased a Norrona heavy duty pant and they also are fantastic!

Stylish, Quality Water/Wind Protection
First, I'm sure potential buyers have questions about sizing, like I did when first examining this product. I initially bought a size medium. I am 5'11", 175 lbs, with a 30.5 inch waist. The mediums fit okay, with the internal waist adjustment getting tight enough to keep the pants up. They were slightly too long. I like my outdoor gear to be form fitting, so I exchanged the medium for a small. Despite the size chart suggesting that a small would not fit me, they fit me exactly how I like them to. There is probably about a half inch of extra room in the waist, if even that, so gaining any additional weight would make these pants too small. They are still roomy enough to accommodate a base layer and a pair of soft shell pants underneath (just barely). In terms of style, these pants are as nice as the pictures suggest. In terms of performance, this is my first time using gore-tex since my military days, and the technology has advanced since then. This three layer gore-tex fabric is incredibly breathable yet offers virtually complete protection from wind, even when gusting beyond 30 mph in below freezing conditions. As a test, I ran in these in 36 degree weather, 10mph wind, for 3 miles at a reasonably brisk pace (7:45 - 8:00 per mile). You would think most waterproof pants would have you sweating excessively under these conditions, but I stayed comfortably warm with only a very slight layer of sweat on my legs after the run. It is pretty amazing. I bought these pants for their flexibility in terms of four season use. They are incredibly warm for how thin they are, and so can be used in the winter with a few layers underneath, and in the absence of insulation can also be used during any other season. They are expensive, but I imagine they will prove to be a worthy investment.

I worn these in a blizzard and they make it feel like a pleasant day. It's defining protection against the elements. The material is durable, windproof and waterproof. It keeps the snow out and keeps you dry. There are lots of pockets and it has side vents for the good weather days. I'll be buying more from this company as I impressed with my first purchase.
