The Unit ensures you’re at the top of your game.

A stealthy agent never leaves for his assignment without the durable Nixon Men’s Unit Watch. Its dual time display with temperature gauge lets him know the time, date, day, and temperature—essential to any top secret operation. If he needs some light to type in a door code in the dark, all he needs to do is hit the button for the display light. The Unit’s count-down timer also lets him know how much time he has left to dismantle a bomb, and its alarm ensures he’s never late for a meeting with the head of the intelligence department.

I really did like this watch.......but

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I actually got this watch in the Dark Red/Black Ano, however, upon receiving it was more pink thank anything. I had tons of people asking me why I purchased a pink watch, so I wouldn't say it's really "red" as pictured.
As for functionality, it does an incredible job, however the temperature guage is off by about 8 degrees on average. This is most likely caused by the heat radiating off your skin, which is fine, I just subtract the difference whenever I'm curious about the temp.
Additionally, after 2 months of use the band just somehow broke on me while I was standing there, luckily I found the tiny screw that connects the band to the face, so I was able to fix it on my own.
Lastly, the only reason I give this review a two star is because of the nixon warranty. I've been a nixon customer for over 10 years, so I've got nothing bad to say about them. However, my watch stopped working after 10 months of use. Thinking it was just a battery issue, I went ahead and unscrewed the back casing and replaced the battery. It worked fine, only up to a week and the watch died. Thinking this could be a warranty issue and being covered under the "2 year" warranty time frame I called nixon customer service to find out about the repair. First off, the customer service rep was super rude, which I found very unfortunate because I am a big fan of this brand and what the company stands behind. But who knows, maybe the guy was just having a bad day. He wasn't helpful and kept telling me to go online and all the info is on there. I called because some of the instructions were vague, he seemed pretty fed up and we ended up ending the call. Anyway I called a again and once again another not so kind customer service rep. This time he told me that once the back casing is opened the warranty doesn't get covered....... Are you serious? So if the battery naturally died and I replaced it by myself at home, then the warranty is good no more. An absolutely ridiculous warranty policy. So just be warned that once you open the case, the warranty won't be covered. But you should rather send your item in to their repair service (which you do have to pay for shipping). Hope this clears some things up about Nixon and their warranty program. Other than that the watch was great, just dooped out of on me after 10 months....

If you want something to last then this is the type of watch you want to get. It isn't an everyday watch, it must also be well kept and looked out for like other watches should.

Very disappointed; Didn't last 2 weeks

I bought the all-white model for a 2 week sailing vacation in Croatia. Within days, the band was rashing my wrists, even on a loose setting. The face ring, which seems to be a seperate piece than the main watch body, is slightly discolored and 'peeling' and there are already signs of rust coming from the band pins. Again, this is all in less than a month of ownership. I would say darker colors would not reveal such poor craftsmanship as quickly, but they will all use the same components. Returned as soon as I was home from my trip, and I'll be leery of Nixons from now on, as long as I'm looking for "waterproof"watches.

On a bright side, all of the functions continue to work flawlessly, and the watch was relatively easy to figure out without a manual. Not a bad looking watch if you will seldom be wearing it in water.

    Solid Watch

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

The watch is very good for on the go. At first I was worried that the wristband was a cheap plastic but it turned out to be pretty solid. The temperature reading is always a little off (8 degress or so) but it doesn't bother me that much. Definitely recommend it to anyone needing a watch for everyday use.

    I like it

I recieved this watch as a gift last year and loved it from the get go. Looks, check...all the "tech specs" I would want in a watch (under $150), check. I wear this watch daily and I would say it gets abused more than the average watch out there due to my job, wildland firefighting. It is pretty scratched up, but not many watches on the line aren't. The watch survived the season, works great, and looked totally radical and still does. The only thing that prevents the five star status is that the silicone wrist band eventually succumbed to the abuse I put it through and developed some tears in the adjustment holes. I threw on a canvas wrist strap and booyah, it was ready to go.

    Sweet Watch

Ive been wearing the unit for about a month now and i must say this thing draws attention. I get a few compliments a day on this watch. The fit is perfect and the construction seems to be durable. The only issue is the height, this watch sits higher than most watches and hits just about everything my arm does.

What does the bottom left section tell you?

To my knowledge, it does nothing. Those little panels change every second. I never understood it, but I love this watch the most in my collection. If you're thinking of buying, then buy.
