We zip into the Nilas to hide from icy winds as we trudge through deep powder and climb mixed routes to stand above the clouds. The burly weave blocks out the mountain's bluster, while the ultralight fill traps in our heat. With a one-handed pull, the streamlined hood gives us added protection from swirling flakes without blocking our view.

Keep me Warm on Kilimanjaro
Bought this jacket specifically for use on a Kilimanjaro trip. Jacket was sized right for layering over other clothes, and on summit night with temperatures in the low 20s and blowing wind, I was comfortable and very warm (almost too warm, as being so warm made me even more drowsy). I expect in similar conditions on other mountains this jacket would also work great.

Great quality jacket
Warm, lightweight, durable, and water resistant, everything I wanted in a jacket, can’t wait to try it out in colder temps.

Cutting costs?
I had the 2019 version and loved it. Something happened to it so I got a new one in spring 2023 and the jacket is different. I don’t like the new zipper, it is difficult to use. The outer material seems to be the same but the loft seems worse. Overall, it doesn’t feel close to as premium of a jacket as it was a few years ago.

Disappointed in color
Newly purchased. Outer shell is crinkly, but soft. Inner hand warmers are great. 800 fill is very warm. Bought this jacket because the “ dark storm” looked like a unique, fresh color. Don’t be fooled - this is just another black jacket. Best update your site photos, MH.

Perfect
I bought this for a Baker/Rainier trip. Traditionally, I hate thumb loops. I don't use them on sun shirts, and I despise them on fleece jackets. However the design of the cuff on this jacket along with the thumb hole is perfect. I slide my arms into the sleeves and my hands just seem to naturally find the dumb holes, and I don't even notice. I wore the jacket every night on Baker and Rainier and stayed toasty warm. It was even the perfect pillow packed up in a stuff sack at night.

Nylas
I have owned my Nylas Parka for 5 years and at 9 degrees I’m Warm as toast. I wear layers under it when I’m camping in extreme conditions. I also have a lumina -30 bag. Best bag I have ever owned. I’m warm at 0 degrees.

6000 Meter Jacket
The Nilas jacket is perfect as an outer layer. The quality of the jacket is awesome as well as it’s wind breaking ability. Paired with a mid layer jacket, the Nillas jacket will take you to 10F (Chimborazo for me)

Great in Vermont for Winter
I bought for Rainier climb which ended at Disappointment Cleaver. Have had many chances to wear in Vermont (my home) this winter. It is my go to jacket for extreme cold days. Super soft and warm and comfy. Love the thumb hole cuffs as well as the stuff sack that came with jacket. Very durable shell material.
