Why We Like The Mountain Hardwear Firefall/2 Jacket
We stay cozy on the lift and dry on the hill in Mountain Hardwear's Firefall/2 Jacket. The fill's synthetic fibers trap warm air inside, while the impermeable laminate shuts out spray and snow showers. When charging through chop, we open the underarm vents to boost airflow, so we don't sweat out our baselayers.

Great jacket design with some concerns
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have very high expectations for Mountain Hardware. I really love the jacket design, and it seems like solid quality. Unfortunately my skin had a really bad reaction to the fleece at the top of the jacket. Not sure if it was poor quality dye or a contamination issue, but my lip swelled up and eventually I had to seek urgent care for facial swelling. I highly recommend others soak/was their jacket before the first use.

I’m glad I went with this model over the insulated firefall which didn’t get as good of reviews. It’s insulated enough and has room for layering. I chose this jacket because the specs said it was wind proof. I think it’s the perfect thickness, warmth, length and has great colors which look good with my brownish snow pants. I was ready for a fun pattern after years of solid colors. It has a snow skirt and enough pockets for me. I could have fit in a small but I ordered a medium to make sure there was some breathing room. Love it!

Returned
Bulky in the midsection, to snug under the arms do to the think long zippers for venting. Great fabric and color. Returned

Color and Sleeves Off
This jacket is green, not turquoise. I was extremely surprised by the color, it was not like the photo. In addition, the sleeves are very long. If you have short or average arms, the sleeves will be very long on you. Seems like a nice quality jacket for those who are color blind giants.

This jacket is perfect. It’s a great weight for layering underneath or wearing alone on warmer days. The quality is amazing and the water repelling is great. I ordered the Corozo Nut color and it isn’t as warm as it looks on screen, but I still like it and am very happy with my purchase.

Great Jacket!
I am a small go got a medium on purpose - the medium is great for a bit baggier of a look/to have the option to later underneath. I’m sure I could have gotten away with a S but happy with my purchase regardless. The jacket is plenty warm (have had it in temps below 0) and perform well in wet conditions.

Love it!
Haven’t worn it on the mountain yet but I love the color and the fit. Been looking for a this color to go with my dark purple mountain hardware bins for a couple years. 5’1” and 175 lbs, the XL is great. Not too long which was a possible concern. Sleeves are a little long for me but I just tighten the wrists and it’s fine. Great pocket placement and ski pass zipper pocket. Can’t wait to test it out!
