    From chump to champ.

The Metolius Simulator 3D Backcountry FingerBoard Backboard Combo turns your weak digits into monster fingers in no time so you can send like the champs. By utilizing a high-tech, CAD/CAM computer design, Metolius was able to integrate a massive variety of holds from the top jugs, to the slopers, and all the way down to those nasty finger pockets and bottom crimps. Its computer design also made the fingerboard bend into a broad arc that tapers outward and downward for better ergonomics, forearm clearance, and reduced injuries. Because the Simulator 3D is one of the best training boards out there, integrated its own colors and included its own backboard with a goat logo. The backboard and the included comprehensive instructions make for a quick and easy setup. Metolius also included a training guide to get you cranking and training in the best possible way.

    looks good and works better

This hangboard is great, looks good hanging in the house and it works like a charm. i recommend getting the backboard and hangboard combo. the backboard makes it easier to hang on studs

    Great Hangboard

The combo with backboard makes this convenient, but this fingerboard itself is great. Good texture and nice variety of jugs, slopers, pockets, and crimps.

    Metolius Simulator Rocks!

This simulator is the best way to improve your finger strength every single day, spending 5-30 minutes on the hangboard using different grips, offset pull ups and even L-hangs. Shallow holes and deep pockets, narrow and wide, with a gritty texture... Unless you have your own indoor climbing wall, this is the way to go to increase and maintain finger strength.

    A Good Challenge

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

First off, the mounting board that this hangboard came with was okay, there were lots of splintery edges that I could see becoming a pain in the ass while mounting. However, I managed to mount it without any splinters, so I'm not that fussed.

Mounting it however was a pain, personally. This is just because my house is ancient and thus the studs are incredibly hard to drill through, so mounting this thing took me a LONG TIME. However, once it was up, everything was A-OK. I also had to have help with mounting because I needed someone to hold up the board, make sure it didn't move so that it would stay level, and then I would drill it whilst they held it until I got at least two screws in on either side. (Just something to keep in mind if you live alone).

After finally being able to use it, I realized just how easy the hangboards at my local climbing gym were; because when I tried to use this hangboard, I struggled staying on (which is a good thing). The holds range from really deep edges and pockets, to what feel like impossibly small edges, which means the board will last you a long time, because as you progress, you can progress to harder holds. I do feel like the texture isn't the greatest, they aren't as rough as I would like (I'm no good with slick holds). Also something that I appreciate, is that there are two different angled slopers, which is a nice variety to have. They are pretty difficult in my opinion (compared to the other hangboards i've tried).

    Overall a good board.

UPDATE: I've been using it for a good while, and in case this wasn't obvious (it wasn't for me at first) the holds are MUCH easier to use once you chalk it up a bit. I was having a hard time on the slopers (they were too slick) and after i put some chalk on them and on my hands, I could easily hold and do pull ups on both. So if you're having difficulty on the holds, chalk chalk chalk! Hopefully this helps.

Good board for all skill levels

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The hangboard is a nice gritty texture that doesn't damage your fingers but gives appropriate friction, has a good variety of holds, and seems quite durable. The backboard is worth grabbing at the same time especially since it is similarly priced to going to a lumbar store and having them cut you a similar piece.

    Amazing price, amazing board

Super easy to set up and get hanging, love that it comes together at such an awesome price. This made me realize how much harder I need to work on my strength, but now I can do that at home!

Love it all you need in one package.

I love the fact that it comes already pre mounted on wood so its easier to mount onto the wall. This thing is great for keeping the strength up and overall fitness level great. Love this thing much better than a pull up bar, can't complain at all
