While not quite as ready for severely cold temperatures as Mavic's Athena Thermo Jacket, the Mavic Women's Cloud Thermo Jacket does a fantastic job of shielding you from the elements this winter without costing quite as much. You'll want to layer up well for the coldest days, but for everything else, the Cloud Thermo Jacket is ready and waiting to help you keep your legs spinning this fall and winter.
We like the balance of the Cloud Thermo jacket. It has just enough insulation to keep you warm on some of your coldest rides (especially if you layer properly), yet just enough breathability and flexibility to not make you sweat excessively or feel encumbered. The jacket is made of a soft material that Mavic calls Ride Wick Warm on its interior, which does just what it says it does: keeps you warm while wicking away moisture to keep you drier, and thus warmer. Outside, the Cloud employs Warm Shell, a nearly-windproof polyester softshell material that also insulates for cold-weather riding. Mavic's Ergo Cuffs are comfortable and offer excellent movement without giving up their seal on your wrists, although the forearms do not have the zippered Ergo Vents of the Athena Thermo Jacket. There's a zippered chest pocket and three rear pockets, and there are light-reflective details about the jacket to boost your visibility at night.
The Mavic Cloud Thermo Jacket comes in five sizes, from Small to XX-Large, and in two colors: Chocking-X and Cerise.
