Warmcube Kaprun Jacket

Built for those frigid powder days of January, the Marmot Warmcube Kaprun Jacket gives you the warmth and protection you need to keep lapping the goods long after everyone else called it a day due to the cold. Equipped with a 2-layer MemBrain construction, and with fully sealed seams, this jacket offers waterproof, breathable protection to keep you dry in blizzard-like conditions, while the 800-fill down insulation wraps you in toasty comfort through brutally cold chairlift rides and icy wind tunnels. This 800-fill down is locked in place by 3D WarmCube technology to prevent unwanted shifting and maximize warmth, as well as ensure easy packability when rising temps call for less layers. The Warmcube Kaprun furthers its versatility with a zip-off powder skirt, removable hood, and zippered underarm vents—should the day's forecast continue to change its mind.

Great ski jacket for very cold conditions

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is incredibly warm on the coldest days and well designed. There are 5 zippered pockets including one interior, suitable for a phone, one large breast pocket, a small sleeve pocket for ski pass, and two hand pockets. The insulation is sewn inside cubes which prevent its movement. The exterior shell is water proof and the detachable hood accommodates a helmet. This is not an all season jacket - it’s simply too warm - although pit zips provide some relief. But if you’re looking for all day warmth in temps below 10F, this is the jacket for you.

Kaprun Is A Keeper!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with my Men's Warmcube Kaprun jacket. I am a 5'6 female with broad shoulders and a large bust, so I cannot comfortably wear many women's jackets. So, I buy mens. I adore the vivid color of the jacket, which is true to the photo on the site. The jacket is very warm and I love the inner sleeves with hand loops. There are so many subtle pockets and I love pockets. I can have my phone, wallet, gloves, etc. and the pockets are nice and deep. The inner lining keeps snow and cold air from whirling up from the bottom of the coat. The hood is nice and deep, unlike some hoods that pull when you lean forward. I wear my jacket in the rain and it keeps me dry and warm even in the face of wind and heavy downpour. I love in the city (philly) so the warmth and the color are very important to me for my winter commute to work on public transportation early in the morning, when temps are low and visibility is also low. I recommend this coat to all of my friends, because it's a great investment. The pit zips can be opened if you get too warm. There are just so many perks to this coat. I'm thrilled that I bought it. I'm just sad the Marmot store in King of Prussia is gone. I love shopping in store

Nice warm coat.

I’ve skied for 40 years and this is the first really warm coat I’ve ever had. Did not come with instructions so I had to use trial and error to cypher out the correct way to put my arms in and keep the zipper on the front where I could grab a hold of it. It was much easier to put it on unzipped and then zip it up. I would not have wasted a couple of hours if they just said something clearly on the manual.

Great jacket

Warm and very versatile. Possibly the best midweight jacket that I have owned.

Your all in one ice climbing go to!

This is my favorite jacket for ice climbing as it has a shell outer and warm inner for those days 10 to -20 degrees!

Crazy sizing!

Love the products and I am in a similar business so I am comfortable sharing with you that your sizing is ridiculous and runs so small. Your XL is like a large medium etc. Would love to spend more money with you but stuff just doesn't fit!

Ski jacket

Wore this jacket snow skiing in Deer Valley, UT. Didn’t get cold, even in single digit weather! Great jacket, not bulky, warm and kept me dry!

I was looking for a warm ski parka and decided to try the Kaprun when it was on sale. I loved the stretch waterproof fabric, the zippers, the pockets, the construction quality, the bright red color, the wrist gaiters, the wide velcro cuffs, and the removable pow skirt. The warmcube design is impressive, but I doubt that the increase in warmth is worth the added construction cost and reduced durability (that's a lot of stitches!). I did decide to return it, though, after I tested it on a 15F day. Most insulated coats have a small region of uninsulated space on either side of the front zipper that I never notice, but the Kaprun's is 4in wide and I definitely felt it on the downhill. Furthermore, I found the body of the coat to be too short, and the removable hood is unnecessary (why would anyone want to remove the hood from a coat like this?). It lets a draft in and makes the front of the collar stiff. Ditto the unnecessary pit zips. This coat is so warm that they won't do much anyway. Overall, I got the impression that Marmot's mountaineering/ski department designed a fantastic bomb-shelter parka, and then some other department tried to turn it into an urban fashion piece. I'm looking forward to a revised model for next year.

Top tier ski coat

In redouble features and very well built. Warmest jacket I have ever owned and I have been skiing and snowboarding for over 25 years. Worth every single penny.
