From skiing corn snow in late spring to leading a group across a glacier on a clear day in Alaska, the Marmot ROM 2.0 Hooded Jacket is ready for all of your, moderate aerobic activities in cool, not-too-wet places. Marmot took the original ROM, which stands for Range Of Motion, and upgraded it with a windproof, water-resistant Gore Infinium construction to stop stiff breezes and sudden sleet in their tracks. However, it still offers plenty of breathability and mobility so you can move comfortably and freely in the mountains without exposing yourself to the elements.

Comfortable and sheds rain well
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this as a shell in the winter months and really liked it , today I got caught in a torrential downpour and this jacket shed water beautifully and kept my upper body dry. I agree with other reviews about the hood being large but it’s adjustable enough to shrink it down. Overall I’m glad I picked it up and I’m sure the quality is on point to last as well.

Great piece
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took this jacket skiing in Tahoe and the weather was 61° and hot! As a soft shell it was perfection. The weight of this jacket is just what you want in a shell only jacket. The fit is good in the shoulders and in terms of mobility it’s wonderful. I don’t like the length of the hem at the front, it feels like it’s too long given the trim fit of the jacket.

Hood is made for helmeted endeavors only
The hood is no gigantic - I look like a medieval monk without a baseball hat underneath. The one adjustment point is not sufficient to tighten it - it works horizontally but not vertically. Oh well. I guess this is targeted more towards endeavors that require a helmet.

Great soft shell for the price.
I like the Gore material in the shoulders. The hood works well too, and the velcro wrist cuffs are helpful. The fabric in the body of the jacket are less substantial than the shoulders. The pockets are a little too low and could have a more fleecy material inside them. Overall good soft shell.

Roomier version of the tried and true original ROM
I've loved my old ROM so much that I was excited to try the 2.0. Personally, I didn't find too much difference in this new model besides color options and fit. I am 6" 4' and 165 lbs, so pretty slim. The original left me with a very sharp fit that hugged my shoulders perfectly. The 2.0 fits a liiiittle big baggier just about everywhere, but especially in the shoulders and upper arms. This is probably more practical for fitting thin warm base layers underneath as well fitting better on those who are not as slim.

Great Mountain Bike Jacket.
bought it for mountain biking. Wrecked the second ride with this jacket and it didn't rip!! Great at wicking all of the sweat out of the jacket.

Great fit for mild conditions
Great fit worn by itself or layered. Super light weight and excellent mobility. Good waterproofing on hood and shoulders, but body easily gets wet with light rainfall.

Great mid layer or outer layer coat
Worn as an outer shell for early season skiing. Was dumping for 4 hours and water didn’t penetrate at all. Super comfy and can fit a down jacket or mid-layer jacked below if you like. Soft, light, and quiet. Packs small. I also got a few comments from people liking the style on the mountain.
