Why We Like The PreCip Eco Jacket
For quick-stowing waterproof protection that doesn't bog us down on the trail, we reach for the highly breathable performance of the Marmot PreCip Eco Jacket. We throw on this comfortable shell when heading out on the trail in wet weather. Its microporous NanoPro membrane with microscopic, densely-packed pores and a DWR finish keeps raindrops out while letting perspiration through. The DriClime mesh chin guard prevents moisture buildup from your warm, moist breath and dripping sweat—moving it quickly away from your skin and drying quickly. Fully sealed seams ensure rain doesn't sneak through the cracks, and we can batten down against the elements by pulling in the hood, hem, and cuffs. When we start getting steamy huffing up a hill, we can unzip the underarm vents to let cool air in and pent-up heat escape.

Waterproof--for about three hours
I loved this jacket until I was doing field work in the rain last weekend. It's the first time I wearing the jacket out in rain for that long. (I've had the jacket for two years) About three hours into the work (in steady rain), my shirt under the jacket began to get wet all over. Other times when I've worn it in rain for shorter periods of time, it worked perfectly.

LOVE this jacket!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 3rd time purchasing this same jacket. The first time I needed it for a trek i was taking with my husband in Cusco, Peru - an expedition to find the last Incan civilization (NOT Macchu Picchu) and i left it with a new friend I’d met - a yoga instructor from Lima) who adored it. I’m 5’5 and she’s 5’9 and still, it fit her perfectly, as our weight is about the same. She loved it. Then it happened again. I bought one for myself and wore it to death until it was nearly in rags. So i bought it again - only 1 size up - and it’s PERFECT. I hope to find someone who admires it on me that i end up giving it to and to her so I can buy another one. Thanks, Marmot. xoxo

Well-balanced design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gift for wife - was her #1 choice out of about a dozen options. Good balance between too flimsy vs. too heavy. She likes the underarm zip vents. Very practical.

Women's PreCip® Eco Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pomegranate color is appealing. She appreciates the zip pit to cool off. Got it on sale for a great price so very happy about this.

Not as good as it used to be. Workmanship is poor.
Shoulders too small. Zippers are low quality. Please increase the quality like it was before .

Perfect Packable Layer!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- XS
- Weight:
- 110
I needed a new lightweight rain jacket, and was looking for something that 1. had pit zips, and 2. would pack down for an easy camping/travel option. I have always loved my heavier Marmot ski jacket, and this rain jacket 100% fits the need! So much attention to detail! Ordered the XS - it's loose enough to throw a few layers underneath if needed.
