Fast set-up!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tent over the summer and used it 3 times during car camping. It was fast to set up and incredibly roomy! Only down-side is its mono-design, with no fly, that condensation can be a problem.

Great Tent
We got this tent on sale for the Marmot Labor Day sale. Three nights in this tent so far and I couldn't be happier. We have a Kelty tent that has a lot less ventilation, which makes it a nice cooler weather tent, but can be hot in the summer. This tent stays nice and cool on warmer nights. I would agree with other reviewers that this tent is a stretch as a 3 season tent. Last weekend camping in West Virginia the temps got to about low 40s. The tent was pretty cold. I don't personally mind sleeping a little on the cooler side, but my partner didn't think it was particularly pleasant. Set up is pretty easy after the first time setting up. There was a little learning curve with the one pole system. The huge front door makes it really easy to set up inside and pretty easy if the bathroom is needed at night. I haven't guy lined it at all and it withstood some pretty windy conditions. The pole system for the front awning is pretty useless. We've improvised by guylining the front awning to trees instead. This could be an issue camping in places with few trees, but we are lucky enough to live in WV and trees are plentiful. I like that it is pretty inconspicuous in the trees. It may sound silly, but I rather like when I come upon a campsite and the tents are non-intrusive in the landscape, but I mostly camp at established campsites that are easy to get to. The brighter tents make me cringe a little, but I understand their utility especially in the backcountry (easy of finding your own campsite, easy of others finding you for rescue).

Affordable, quality tent for car camping/festivals
The Mantis is a well made tent, but not without some drawbacks. One the plus side, it is roomy, with typical Marmot quality. I have not used it in the rain, but the materials should hold up well for a single wall design. The canopy is a nice idea, but has to come down to close the vestibule. The biggest downside is that it is not a freestanding design. The ventilation is not as good as some of the double vestibule dome designs, but fine for spring/fall camping. The set up is a bit of a head-scratcher initially, but not too bad. This is a good tent for car camping or festivals, but not so great for backcountry adventures. I have 3 Tungsten tents in various sizes that I prefer. When people ask for my advise on a tent purchase, I always recommend they consider Marmot.

Not at all waterproof.
Leaked really bad. Not even water proof on the top at all. I want my money back.

Marmot Mantis tent
Normally, I am a big fan of Marmot products. And while I appreciate the quality of the Mantis tent, it is a bit of a challenge to set up, break down and roll away for storage. Additionally, not being able to pick up and shake out (dirt and debris) like a traditional dome style tent presents a negative. However, the unique of the design is a bright spot. My kids enjoyed the "balcony" and easy access to their sleeping quarters.

Terrible
Fell completely apart. I’d like them to send me a different products. Very excited to get this. Even more disappointed. Please give me a refund or send a new product?!?!? Very disappointing.

Solid tent
A breeze to set up (stake it first) and very functional. Not really 3 seasons however. Temps below 50 would make for a cold night in this tent. Great rain protection, and the high ceiling makes for easy entry/exit. Nice construction, and a really solid (single) HD 7000 series aluminum pole. The vestibule is enormous.

Exactly what I needed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When you understand the pros and cons of a single wall tent and keep that in mind, this tent is great. Pros: Very simple to set up especially for what is realistically a 4 person tent. No rain fly to mess with. Held up great in some very heavy sustained downpours. Cons: It is a single wall tent so naturally the ventilation might not be that of a conventional tent with rain fly. I don't camp in colder weather so haven't really dealt with the supposed condensation issues relating to that. Mesh seems to be developing small runs in it and could be of better quality. Would prefer a dual pole some design in very serious winds. But again, everything in life is a tradeoff and for me I wanted a single wall easy to set up tent that wasn't too big or small and I would buy this again. Exactly what I was looking for.

I can stand up!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The concept of this tent is so cool. Giant 'front' door, and a nice window at the back means a wonderful cross breeze as you slumber. It made for a perfect napping spot in the early summer heat out in the desert with the door open, a slight breeze and being shaded inside. The mornings were wonderful as I could just about stand up, so there was no struggle making a quick outfit change. Just about the only critique I have is the vestibule poles are just about useless if you're in a somewhat windy area. We were camping atop a cliff where the breeze was consistent, so we couldn't get them to stay planted to be of use, but if that's my only complaint, I think I will love this tent for many years to come!

Roomy and versatile
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this on a cold, wet camping trip with two people and a dog. Plenty of room. Stayed warm and dry despite heavy rains and temperatures below freezing. An uncommon design adaptable to many configurations.
