This pack is a phenomenal pack if you're headed in for some sport climbing. The organization inside is great for holding ~15 quick draws, a rope, 2 pairs of shoes, harness, chalk bag, and belay device as essentials. I can then either fit water bottles or a helmet inside but it's a bit tough for me to fit both in if there's a rope inside already. I wish it was just a tad big larger, but that's more of a preference for me as I'm usually the one carrying a majority of things into the crag. The pack does have 2 exterior pockets, one side-open to the front panel, and one on the top. However, if you decide to carry the rope on the outside via rope strap, it comes out of the top pocket so you are unable to carry anything else in that pocket. All loaded up at about 30-35 lbs I have absolutely no problems with it on approaches about 30 min or so in. If I was going to go for an hour+ approach I'd probably want a bag with hip belt to take load off my shoulder, but as a quick-in bag this thing is streamlined and perfect for that! The ability to completely flatten out the insides once you get to your spot is highly convenient, and if you're an organization nut this bag is absolutely for you!
