Why We Like The Crag Classic Rope
Among Mammut's arsenal of climbing ropes, the Crag Classic Rope stands out to us as an inexpensive all-arounder that thrives at the crag, whether it's bolted limestone or sandstone splitter. The skinny 9.5mm diameter delicately balances between strength and lightness, making the rope suitable for both single- and multi-pitch routes. Mammut added a center mark to quicken rappel rigs.

Great rope for sport and lead
Bought this rope for indoor lead climbing and it's perfect for it. I like the color a lot and it works great!

Quality
Dual colored, im done with hard to see middle markers, smaller diameter but in range of most belay devices. Does get dingy quick because of the bright pink but its my favorite rope to date.

Lighter than my 9.8, was easy to carry around for 24HHH and held up to a lot of climbing both then and since, did find the sheathing getting fuzzy a bit quicker than some of my other previous mammut ropes, but that could have been environmental factors.

Good rope, very dynamic.
I'm pretty heavy compared to most climbers, but even my lighter friends have commented on the amount of stretch in this rope. Not saying this is bad or good, depends on what it's being used for and where, just an observation and something to keep in mind. After about a year of climbing with this rope, I did find some excessive wear and a flat spot which led to me shortening the rope by about 6 ft. Not sure what happened there, but a good reminder to check your rope carefully and regularly!

Great Crag Rope!
This was the first rope I purchased. After using a friend's is was a no brainer to buy the same rope. Easy to use and feel secure on the rock. My favorite part is the two different patterns on each half so it is easy keep track of what side has been used more frequently. I got a ton of compliments out at the crag from people. For this price point I would definitely recommend this rope

My staple outdoor crag option
The "crag classic rope" is named appropriately - for anyone who uses this rope, it becomes an instant classic. The durability and strength of the Crag Classic is second to none. Very happy.

Having now used this rope since the spring, about 2-3 days a week, I would recommend this rope as an all around workhorse for cragging. I have been most impressed with the sheath of the rope. Compared to other ropes I own, this rope is not catching fine dirt and dust as easily as others would. Additionally , the rope appears to be handling abrasion very well. The Bi-color has been pleasantly helpful when rappelling and judging how much rope has been fed to the leader. Ive been very pleased with the rope and will likely replace it with an identical one again in the future.
