When we need a heavy-duty boot for non-technical mountaineering but a full-on ice climbing boot or technical mountaineering boot is overkill, we go with the LOWA Cevedale EVO GTX Mountaineering Boot to get the job done. Made with a thinner sole profile and better ankle flex for hiking, the Cevedale EVO GTX Mountaineering Boot is ideal for alpine hiking and mountaineering that doesn't involve steep climbing or technical crampons. This boot is compatible with hybrid or semi-automatic crampons and features a fully waterproof construction. The upper is made from leather and synthetic material and features a full wrap-around rand to protect our boots from freezing. The Vibram Scalatore EVO outsole provides tons of traction, and the GORE-TEX lining seals out water to keep us comfortable all hike long.
