Coverage without insulation.
The only thing that can ruin rides through the changing landscapes of spring and fall is underdressing. Or overdressing. The Louis Garneau Equipe 1.6 Long-Sleeve Jersey combines extended coverage, lightweight, breathability, and a soft touch against the skin help fill the gap between hot summer cycling and the colder days when a thermal jersey or warmers are needed.
The jersey is made from LG's Micro-Airdry fabric, which has no insulating properties but does add an additional layer between your forearms and the early October air. It's also SPF 30 and breathes like a summer-weight material, so it provides arm coverage from the sun during all but the hottest weeks of summer. Regardless of when you use it, the inclusion of a fourth, zippered pocket means the Equipe 1.6 provides secure storage for a smart phone or house key—the kind of things a cyclist can't afford to lose on the road.

Cool weather riding
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought this as a gift but have a review to share. "This jersey is nice and light weight but keeps me warm on cooler days. It is perfect for late summer beginning of fall riding in NJ. The jersey fits a bit bigger than normal jerseys which is nice for adding an under layer to."
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
This is my first bike jersey and I really didn't know what to expect, I was a little worried that it would be to small or to tight I'm 5'8 185. I got the large and it fits just right, great material to keep me cool on hot days.
Perfect for cool weather riding
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Large
- Height: 5'11"
- Weight: 190lbs
Even though it’s long sleeve, it’s not fleece lined. Nor does it have a wind wind block membrane. Which makes it great for cooler (but not frigid) temps. Long sleeve light weight jerseys like this are not easy to find. I’m 5’ 11”, 190 lbs and the large was a slightly loose fit. Which is not a bad thing. So on colder days you can easily wear a synthetic or smart wool under layer.
