    Good But Not Great

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I still prefer the Thingamabobbers for all of my indicator fishing. Like the Biostrike, the Thingamabobbers are reusable and with a hitched loop will stay in place on the line, the interesting thing about Biostrike is that is tends to elicit strikes during late Fall when you are fishing a spawn with egg patterns.

Like the other user who commented on this, a hotter day also tends to turn this stuff into a mess so only advised on colder days. Good but not great, and I still have a strong preference for the Thingamabobbers in different sizes to accommodate all of my indicator fishing.

    Love the Stuff

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Can't say enough about this simple addition to my fly fishing gear. Reuseable, easy to adjust size/ line placement, easy to see in the water, and has yet to sink on me. Unlike many other fly fishing items, this stuff is cheap, hard to lose, and will last a long, long while!

    Stays Put

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I used Biostrike for the first time over the weekend and it worked well. It stays put on the leader and its bright color is incredibly easy to keep track of. It's also nice that Biostrike can be removed and reused.

    No bobber necessary

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I like the biostrike way better than any other strike indicator that I have used thus far. You can make it whatever size you need to accommodate whatever you are fishing below the surface. Once formed it holds really well. I have rarely experience the Biostrike sliding around on my fluoro. No problems with sinking either. The best thing of all is that it is reusable! I've just barely picked up my second container after having my original for the better part of two years.

    Not for warmer weather

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I purchased this based on other reviews, but found the biostrike to be rather messy. I think this would work better on cooler days. Unlike other reviewers, I lost the strike indicator and was left with a residual gooey mess on my line. I did dip it in water before casting out, but found that it never really hardened and always remained rather tacky. I find using a thingamabobber or different strike indicator works much better. I'm giving it three stars and will try using it in cooler weather before giving a final review.

    Excellent Visibility

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased the yellow, and it is the most visible strike indicator I've ever tried. Being color blind, that is kind of important, and this stuff almost seems to glow in the dark as the sun sets. It's easy to put on, floats well, and allows you to use as much or as little as you want depending on what and how you're fishing. The only downside I've found is that it tends to leave a residue on your leader. I use it high up on the leader in the same spot every time, so that isn't too big of a deal.

    Quick and easy.

This stuff works great and is a great option when you need some variability. Easy to apply and and change the amount of floatation required for the fly. Make sure you give it a dip in the water before throwing it out there. It needs to harden up so it won't slip.

      The only strike indicator

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was skeptical as to whether or not this would work out for me, I'm glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised by its performance. Goes on nice and easy, give it a little dip in the cold water to harden it up and then you're good to go. Used it all last week fishing the Teton River and never had it detach without me yanking it off there. You can change the flotation by adding more or less of the puddy as needed, a feature I really enjoyed when changing between flies and weights and whatnot. Highly visible. Biodegradable. Easily movable. Reusable (just throw it back in the container when you are done). I really have nothing negative to say about this product. Pick it up!
