    Ride in style.

If you've heard of the Levi's Commuter 511 Denim Pants, you've probably been struggling to find them all year. Well, we're happy to tell you that your quest is finally over, and believe us, it's been worth the wait.

These aren't some run-of-the-mill, one-off attempt at appeasing a subculture. Instead, Levi's worked closely with cyclists in multiple cities around America, distributing prototypes and accepting feedback. And, as a result of developing the pants in accordance to critique, Levi's effectively dialed-in the fit, accoutrement, and finishes to what cyclists are actually asking for.

Accordingly, Levi's adapted its slim-fit 511s to the purpose of cycling. The Commuter 511s feature a water-resistant and dirt-repellent NanoSphere protective finish to make commuting in hostile weather a little more acceptable, especially if your destination is the office. It's for this very reason that Levi's also incorporated an odor-resistant Sanitized finish to the pants, too. Levi's also made these pants perfect for trips where your bag is staying at home by installing a U-lock holster along the rear of the waistband. This way, you're not ramming your lock down your pants, wearing out your belt, or being forced to wear a fanny-pack -- you're grown man after all.

In terms of durability, Levi's double-layered the seat panel and the rear pockets. Additionally, the crotch of the 511 is gusseted in order to resist tearing and saddle abrasion. In terms of fit, it's important to note that Levi's considers the 511 a slim-fit pair of pants. They sit slightly below the waist and feature a skinny, tapered leg. However, for the sake of coverage while in the saddle, these 511s have been cut higher in the rear than a standard pair.

And to increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions, Levi's incorporated reflective 3M Scotchlite tape on the interior of the pant's cuffs.

The Levi's Commuter 511 Denim Pants are available in the colors Grey Denim and Rigid Indigo and in the sizes 29x30, 30x30, 31x32, 32x30, 33x32, 34x32, 34x34, 36x32, and 36x34.

    Best Jeans

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

These are hands down my favorite jeans ever, until they get washed. I'm 5'8" and 165lbs and wear a 32/30. When they are fresh, they fit straight, not too tight and are comfortable with great movement. As soon as they get washed they become skin tight. I try to wash as little as possible, hang dry and re-up on a fresh pair every few months when they get worn down and shrunk too small.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 30 / 30

These are really well made, and the stretch is just right. I don't bike commute in these, but definitely could in a reasonable amount of comfort. The reflective material on the inside of the pant leg is a nice touch. The fit is pretty spot on.

    Totally inaccurate product description

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 34x32

I was looking to back up my old pair of 511s, but had found on the Levi's site that they'd changed the design to remove the gusseted crotch, which was the linchpin of what made them valuable to me. So I gave up for a while, but saw on the Backcountry product description that it included the gusseted crotch. So, perhaps naively, I bought them, thinking this 3rd-party retailer had a few pairs of the good old jeans on hand. I received them today in the mail, and the following two things are true: 1) these jeans have no gusseted crotch, and 2) the product description still claims the jeans they are selling have them.

So, someone screwed up, and it cost me money, and now I don't particularly trust this site.

Two stars because they are otherwise nice jeans, though probably not worth $97.95.

    Totally inaccurate product description

Hey will! Did you reach out to back country and let them know about the issue? I can almost garuantee that BC would be happy to return the pants for you. We are always striving to make sure our descriptions on the site are up to date, but occasionally something might get over looked as a style or model changes slightly from year to year.
