i love these bad boys. i am generally an 11.5 in my running sneakers (nike, addidas, new balance, etc.) and am also an 11.5 in these. I think the foot support and materials used are amazing. I do understand the complaint by others about the fabric not being ideal for hiking because it has stretch to it, which is what makes these sandals so darn comfortable, but i understand that these are not the perfect keen sandal for you, if legit hiking is your goal.

Great for around town, not for trails

These are very comfortable when you put them on and stay that way when walking around town/on the beach/in the office. But if you had any plans to take these on any trails with rocks I would re-consider. Similar to what the other reviewer said the stretchy mess upper does not keep your foot on the sole when there are angles involved. When stepping on a rock at even a moderate angle will cause your foot to slide off the footbed and cause you to stumble with possiblilty of ankle injury. I would imagine its the same idea when in a rocky river. Bottom line is if you want to walk the beach or have a comfy easy to put on sandal for going to the grocery store this will work just fine. But if you want a multipurpose hiking sandal go for the more traditional Keens.

These shoes are super comfortable. I think for hot summer days they would be perfect. The upper is almost identical to the Nike Flyknit. My main issue with these is that I really wanted to use them for hiking and general outdoor use, they failed miserably in this. Every time I stepped on a rock or uneven terrain my foot slid completely off the shoe and I really thought I was going to blow out the upper. It was super sketchy walking on any rocks as I felt I would either slip or twist my ankle. Flat ground, sand, city life they are great, but for adventures go with something different.
