Helmets can be a pain.
- Familiarity:

The Kali Maya 3.0 on the other hand, is another story. I was given the Kali Maya 3.0 size xs/s as a gift, whether it was because I am notorious for not wearing a brain bucket and we should all try to preserve what brains we have left, or because the individual was just genuinely really nice, I have no idea. I tossed it on as soon as I got it though, because free stuff is awesome. The helmet fit like a dream, I am not sure if it's low density layer that my son refers to as the octopus grippers, or the type of padding, or if the individual who's head they modeled this thing after happens to be my long lost twin brother, but once I set it on my head, It disappears. I've used it on 40 degree days and now tested it on 87 degree days with no liner in the cold and no excess sweat in the heat! ( I live in Michigan, it was actually all in the same day. hopefully somebody gets that joke) It's lightweight, ventilated to the nines, and it doesn't make feel like a bobble head. The finish on the helmet is on par with my Fox and Poc helmets and it's actually the lightest helmet I own, lighter than my last road helmet in fact. I'm not saying this is the nicest helmet ever made, I'm just saying I haven't found one better. What more could you ask for?

Fit is customizable and comfortable!

I have been wearing the Kali MAYA 3.0 helmet for about a month now on the trails. I really like how you can really customize the fit for your head. With the adjustable chin straps, dial retention straps, and the locking clips to help keep the ear straps from flopping around. The foam is comfortable throughout the whole ride and also dries pretty quickly when wet. The visor has good enough shade from the sun or glare. I would highly recommend this helmet to my friends and family.

First MTB helmet

Comparing this helmet to all the road helmets I have worn.. yes I wear road helmets on the trail too - this helmet gives me a larger feeling of protection, even when you just look at the padding inside. The helmet sits around your head, rather than road helmets sitting on the top of your head. The straps come from the center back of the helmet, rather the sides, giving a snug fit. I have longer hair than most and bushy; this helmet never pulled out any hair in the padding or boa when taking it off. Going off that, it still has space for a pony tail under the boa. As a first trail helmet, the appeal and comfortability support the price point. I would recommend this helmet to someone getting into trial riding.

Great value

I really like this helmet. The fit and finish are too notch, and I just looks great. The fabric on the headband is really soft and feel better against my forehead than anything else I have tried. The helmet breathes really well in the Phoenix heat. And is light as a feather on a longer ride. Why is it not five stars? One, I would prefer a fidlock buckle, is it the end of the world, almost, but they a re nice touch with gloves on. More importantly, it needs a better sweat management system. I hate when brow sweat drips onto my glasses, and this lacks any of the channelling that other buckets have. For the price tho, Ill be happy running this helmet for a while.

Great Helmet

I got the Maya in black and really like it! It is super comfy and looks sharp. It has these strips of silicone that looks like it has little suction cups, they help keep the helmet from sliding went I start to sweat. Another feature I loved was the quick release buckle on the chin strap, it made adjusting it so simple. For $130 this helmet is a great value.

Incredible helmet for the price!

If you're someone who is dipping their toe into riding trail or simply someone who is looking for an incredible value, this is the helmet for you. For the amount of adjustability and overall comfort, this helmet should cost much more. What I like most about the helmet is that once it's dialed in, I forget I'm wearing it. It's super light and ultra-comfortable. The gel on the inside also doesn't absorb sweat like traditional foam inserts.

Perfect Trail / All Mountain Helmet

This helmet has great ventilation and is also very comfortable - the two main things I look for in a good helmet. On top of that, It also feels nice and light and unobtrusive on rides. It has an absolutely massive range of adjustment on the dial, which I appreciate as I am often between sizes. Besides your standard foam padding on the inside of the helmet, it also some gel-like pads built into the inside of the shell. They really add to the comfort and seem like they'll hold up longer than foam pads. Overall, its a very nice helmet, especially at this price point.
